Trade Rumor(s)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anyone think the Jazz would be willing to trade Jeff Withey? He's 25, cheap contract, doesn't play much. Gobert got hurt (I believe), so they could be looking for someone to step in, aka Mozzy...

He's the kind of low risk high reward we should swing for imo. He makes less than 1 million, so a TPE could be used on him easily, but Utah doesn't need to save any money. I guess it would only make sense if Utah wanted to swing a trade for a player, but didn't have the salary to match, then we could step in to help out.

I've come to the conclusion the best realistic trade that has some significant potential of happening is Morris/Tucker. I think that's a good trade for Cleveland, and by all accounts Phoenix isn't looking for much in return.

Can we fit that under the Haywood TPE? Or would you do Andy for Morris and Tucker for TPE?

Edited to add: About Brook Lopez

Yes, they very well may trade him but they're not going to give him away for a few Russian players and bag of magic beans. They'll trade him for picks/young, quality players and by young, quality players I don't mean a guy averaging 5 points on a Turkish team. Their salary will be 55 million next year even if they don't make a move so cap relief does very little for them in terms of a rebuild.

Would not fit within TPE, would have 2 be separate deals.

Moz for Tucker works, salary wise, actually. TPE for Morris and Moz for Tucker would take a lot of salary of Phx's books for next year.

Thanks. I had forgotten how much the TPE was worth (I see now it's a little over $10M).

I know there have been rumors about us trading Moz, but I see no way it happens. As much as I would hate to see it, I think Andy is the logical guy that gets moved if we end up doing a combo move. I hope we can figure out a way to just get Tucker and be done with it.

For some info. Here are the 3+D specialists in the league today (>3 Catch and Shoot 3PT attempts per game, >53% eFG, plays forward, >0.5 DBPM):

I realized after doing this i got the DBPM stats for last year - it took awhile, so I'm not going to change it, sorry..

Kent Bazemore 71.6% eFG, +1.3 DBPM
Kawhi Leonard 65.1%, +3.5 DBPM
Jared Dudley 61.6% eFG, +0.5 DBPM
Draymond Green 60.5%, +4.0
Will Barton 57.2% eFG, +1.1 DBPM
DeMarre Carroll 56.8%, +0.5 DBPM
Jae Crowder 56.3%, +0.6 DBPM
Marvin Williams 55.0% +1.8 DBPM
Nicholas Batum 54.9% +2.8 DBPM
Al-Farouq Aminu 53.7%, +2.9 DBPM
Patrick Patterson 53.4%, +0.7 DBPM
Otto Porter 51.7%, +0.9 DBPM
Matt Barnes 51.6%, +0.7 DBPM
Trevor Ariza 51.3%, +1.3 DBPM
Danny Green 50.9%, +2.2

We'd obviously love to get rid of Andy as opposed to the TPE or Moz, but Andy has 10 mil guaranteed for next season. Why would a team want to spend 10 mil on a guy that won't play?

A small name for a small, cheap deal as a potential small ball combo wing/big I haven't seen mentioned is Quincy Acy...I bet he didn't expect to sign with Sacto and only play 11 minutes a night and pick up DNP - CD's along the way. Protects the rim at a decent level according to the guys at Nylon Calculus for a guy who is 6'7. Versatile defender, can rebound a bit, can protect the rim a bit, can shoot the 3 a bit (though he doesn't shoot them very often), fairly high FG%, and can hit FTs...nothing special or earth shattering, but a guy I wouldn't mind having to throw at Draymond should we see them down the line...think if we make a deal, it would be a smaller one like this, so these are the types of guys I'm looking at.

I said this in another thread, but Trevor Ariza is also a very realistic target that's within out capability.

There's only way trading Love would ever make any sense, and that's if LeBron committed to playing PF full-time. Otherwise, you're creating a lot of floor spacing issues that can't really be solved.

If you could get a guy that's an elite perimeter defender and can shoot the ball, maybe you have something there.

I've seen reputable sites tell me both that Andy has $10M guaranteed next season, and that it is only partially guaranteed next season. Do you know which is right?

Very fair point.

I think Andy for Morris, perhaps with a promise of an amicable buyout, is essentially a fair deal for Phoenix. PJ Tucker for the TPE is perhaps a bit different. Phoenix seems motivated to dump Morris coupled with an asset. I think this would largely boil down to what Phoenix can get for Tucker and what it would cost to ship out Morris. Andy and the TPE might not be a bad deal.

Something like Love for Oladipo and Harris would spark my interest (this is either smart or one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever said, can't really decide).

.......

5...4...3..2.

Guys.. Let's stop with the Love for xyz trades.

Peace and harmony. Love.. Compassion.

p.s.
Bob, c'mon bro.

Salary is 10.3 and 9.3 of it is guaranteed.
