Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It would be fantastic if this guy could do his sucking quietly. This guy is the furthest thing you could get from a leader and he's just salty his talent/skills couldn't cash the checks he wrote with his mouth calling the Cavs the team in the east and is blaming everybody but himself for it.

I really thought he was going to be a good soldier and wait til we could move him. Now I think he is probably worse for team than JR or anyone on the roster.

Tristan Thompson handled the setbacks (personal stuff and injuries) well last season and despite all the earned criticism he got for his lack of improvement and performance, he was never a bad teammate. So yeah you're right this is probably a surprise to everybody.

JR was piss poor for two whole years, complained about Kyrie trade and the guys who got back in said trade every opportunity he got, threw soup at an assistant coach and threw Lue under the bus publicly even if he had a legitimate gripe with how Lue benched him.

Management must've tried to trade JR if they've tried to convince TWO coaches not to play him and failed. To their credit they saw this coming but just couldn't unload him however JR's ego can't handle that. Koby tried to be diplomatif and offered to send JR home with pay but JR is incapable of being a professional and played Koby by making it public to make himself look better. That's some toxic stuff and if I'm Koby I'm revisiting sending him home because a buyout isn't going to happen since his contract is still oddly valuable.

Then send him home. Get him out of the locker room

Tristan showed his leadership skills against Atlanta and Orlando. the team fed off his energy .
as far as spacing? haha this team has been very tentative on the three . Thompson demanded they shoot threes and then set the screens to allow them to do it.

Tristan is having a fantastic season and if he played for any other team you guys would be clamoring for him.

Tristan is leading the league in Screen Assist.
top 12 in box outs
4th in offensive rebounds
5th in average defensive speed for Centers

Tristan is also averaging 9.1 paint touches a game shooting 63%

Lots of Good stuff Thompson has been doing.

Hopefully we see a Nance TT lineup soon
. this will get Zizic on the court if it works out.

Irrefutable^

His eFG% is the lowest it's been since 2013-14, he still can't hit a jump shot to save his life, and he's still a poor rim protector. And he's making $17.5M/year.

I think there's zero chance we'd be clamoring for that if he was with another team. But presumably, if he's that "clamorable", we should be able to get a mid-first rounder for him.

Right?

Tt threw Sexton his teammate under the bus. Tt has never been close to a all star Without Lebron he is a journeyman player. Dont stab a teammate in the back to try to make yourself look better.

lol Tristan didn't throw Sexton under the bus to make himself look good.

first time Sexton gets jacked up on the court. Tristan is gonna be there getting in someone's face.

Right?
Tristan is shooting 56% from 3-10 feet.
Tristan defends about 12 shots a game and allows a perfectly respectable 49.6 DFG %.
Matchup after matchup he performs as good or better than his assigned opponent.

The guy is playing winning basketball and when the young guys start learning how to play winning basketball ( See Cedi turning the ball over on an unnecessary pass with 18 seconds left). the Cavs will start winning games.

Yes, we all would direly want Reggie Evans at $17.5 mil per... Gtfo here with that BS. The guy has been in the league for how long and never developed a single part of his game. As the #4 pick overall nonetheless... If it wasn't for LeBron coming back to make the team relevant again, he would have been labeled a complete bust. To many, he still is.

lol Tristan didn't throw Sexton under the bus to make himself look good.

Yes, that's exactly why he did it. To elevate how he currently is perceived by milking the 2016 championship for all it is worth. J.R. does the same thing. "I'm the veteran with a 2016 championship, and you're just a peon. Aren't I great!"

Matchup after matchup he performs as good or better than his assigned opponent.

I assume you're not counting when he couldn't even slow down Alex Len, or went 1-10 against the mighty Jarrett Allen, or when Drummond destroyed him for 26 points and 22 rebounds while TT himself had 6 and 3....

On this team in particular, he is a terrible fit because we need more scoring and rim protection than he provides. He may be a better fit on a different team that has more scorers, and better perimeter defense.

His stats are inflated, he leads the league in offensive rebounds because he’s so bad offensively nobody even bothers to guard him, many of his put backs come from guys doubling whoever is driving. He clogs the paint because he can’t shoot outside of 3ft, is not good at defense how much did Alex Len drop in him in that game lol. and very low basketball iq... he is not playing winning basketball and for a guy making 18 mil this year I expect a lot better.

You guys must be tripping unless this is some kind of scheme hoping GMs from other teams read these posts and raise their value of this bum :chuckle:

Ditto. Plus, we take the fewest amount of 3s in the league, so long rebounds aren't much of a thing. We are also 2nd in the league in shots 15 feet and in, so we always have multiple guys around the paint.

By the way, while looking at some of the advanced metrics. I noticed we only average 1.8 bpg, as a team, lol. There are only 3 teams in the league that average less than 4 bpg. That is so bad...
