Ty Jerome: Grand Theft Salary

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You ain't ever play no Brad Miller.

We were decent friends. One of my best friends worked with a walk on player that lived with Brad. I became closer friends with the walk on player as the 3 of us would go bar hopping all the time. We all ended up living in the same apartment complex for 2 years including Brad.

Brad in the offseason along with some of the other guys would want to go to the co-rec and play basketball. But it was prerry tough for Brad to play pick up ball. So we would orginize games where we would split up the ball players and girl players that would come and then be on weird teams but have fun without anyone trying to "prove" something against Brad or any of the other well known players.

On day we really didnt have enough for a game, but I was trash talking Brad pretty well. SO he challanged me and we played one on one. He was dominating me so bad it became funny so we played the game out, and I am proud to say that I didnt let up on the trash talking the whole time.

I bartended on a Big 10 campus for years, I knew allot of people, most of the athletes from the med to late 90's But I saw Brad a few times a week because he and the rest of his roommates lived only 2 flights downstairs.

He said it very publicly and then did this:

Out of all of the rounds against these guys, I think the other bball players scored like 4 points. One had played in college, and the others were pretty damn good.

The “worst” NBA player is the best any of us have ever been on the same court with.

Their fundamentals are near perfect and they have ways to score that they don’t even use in game because it isn’t part of their role. A guy like Scal can post up, make mid-range shots and do anything he wants on the regular guy. Shaq used to be able to crossover and make all kinds of different shots.

It’s the fundamental stuff and execution that stands out to me at first though. The footwork and ball-handling is so impressive. Even Scal’s is impressive considering that wasn’t his role at all.

The thing that is crazy here too me is, lol at how easy Scal scores. There are offensive players much more potent than him and they still can be defended. Then there are the guys who cannot be defended

Why was it tough for Brad to play pick up ball? I would think everyone would be thrilled to be on the court with a star for a D1 team

After his freshman year (he started all 4 years), he was very recognizable and everyone wanted to prove things against him. This was the Gene Keady years, and after the freshman year, Keady made a rule that he had to get pro taped up just to play pick up ball. It took an extra hour or so, plus he hated how hard people would play him, foul, hit him, all types of shit because he was the 7 foot starting center.

He really wanted to be one of the guys. 2 of his roommates werent on the team, one was the score keeper, the other the team manager. We would go down and run basketball and Brad would ask if he could come and we would have to remind him he has to get taped up first. IN indiana, everyone plays basketball, so Brad would feel left out, it was a weird reverse world, so we started just playing on the off gyms if Brad would come, call up some friends, ect. The girls players would constantly play there and obviously Brad knew them all well (so did my friend the team score keeper), so they would join, sometimes 3 on 3, but often we could get 5 on 5, but open gym just didnt happen after freshman year, and i didnt know him till his sophmore year

I am 5'9 and about 220 lb at the time, i played 1 year of basketball in high school and 4 years of football.

That said, we were good friends in college and Brad was allot better than me.

Favorite part of the story is I only lost 21-18.

ofcourse he also spotted me 18 points, lol
Just like Danny Vegh in table tennis?

not sure who he is, i did once play a grand master in chess when i was 18. Friend sponsered a Russian Jewish family in 1990, he came to his hghschool graduation party he challanged me to a game of chess, i figured how often do i get to play one the 50 best chess players in the world.

Long story short, I lasted longer the first time i had sex than that game lasted, lol...8 or 9 moves and i was done.

i guess it's more about protecting himself from injury. some folks want to "show up" the basketball star and that kind of cocky stuff may get someone injured. it's better to play with trusted group of guys whom you know won't do stupid stuff just to say "i scored on a D1 player"

Basically, 18-22 year old males at college are in their prime dickhead years I guess

If you want to prove you’re as good as Brad Miller try to walk on to the varsity team, don’t foul him on his day off LOL

Obviously he would never play during season pick up ball, lol...but yeah, thats what it came down too. His roommate and my closer friend was a recruited walkon, he was guranteed a spot and earned a scholorship 2 of the 4 years. He came to purdue because of engineering, he actualy got a basketball award scholoraship for grad school his grad school....masters in engineering.

But long story short, he was on the team, 6'9 and was dominated by Brad in practice, but he didnt care, he knew who he was. I used to go to basketball parties all the time, it was a weird world i found myself in

Cleveland legend! I think the numbers were: he'll spot any comer 18 points in a 21 point game; never lost. He had a robust chain of billiard stores in CLE.
I think he was a Hungarian immigrant?
Possibly Jewish? No idea, really.

Pool was my game in my 20's, use to go to state in Indiana all the time. Reality is I wasnt very good on that level, just had fun, but in a random bar game i could kick some ass, lol

One of my good friends used to qualify for for pro turnyments all the time, he would win or finish 2nd in a major amature tourney, go to the pro one and get crushed. When i played him, he would beat me 9 out of 10 times, to give you and idea and he was a bad pro...the good pro's pool players are just so stupid

what's funny about this video too is Scal is obviously winded through the whole thing. He looks so out of shape, ha.

Ty Jerome really doesn't have much online about him. Does anyone know his game well? Why is he not a hotter commodity?
