One of those things is a judgement call. The other was a blatant screw up by a guy who compared himself to a fight pilot.
Blatt's points from plays after time outs were below average at best. He showed himself to be unable to relate to NBA players or sports journalists. The quotes he made suggested he had no idea what his short coming were or what was required by him to do his job. His work ethic was poor, sometimes failing to show up to the gym on time. Behind closed doors Blatt was the laughing stock of the league. If any thing ruined Blatt, it was that he was spoiled by his over seas success and that prevented him from seeing what he was doing wrong in the NBA.
Lue might look funny, but the guy works hard, gets "buy-in" from most of his players, is generally well respected around the league, and he's going to be around for at least one more year, Lebron or no Lebron.
