Danny Ferry has redeemed himself. This was nothing short of a fantastic trade for Cleveland. I think this trade vaults Cleveland past Orlando and puts them neck and neck with Detroit. Boston is still the cream of the crop though.

I don't know if it's really been mentioned or not, but the thing I really like about this trade is that we still have about $25 million in expirings for next year. (Szczerbiak, Snow, Jones, and well also West given that he signs the qualifying offer for next year) Also Joe Smith's contract is up at the end of this year. (source: hoopshype)

Ric Buecher seems to like the trade, but says: "Why Now? Cavs don't need to make LeBron happy now just as long as he is by 2010" (which is true). But he then says Cavs HAD expirings coming up this summer, Cavs may be stuck with what they got up to 2010. (which is not true at all)

I think what has been overlooked and might be very important is lateral quickness. MB defensive system is all about help and recover. In AV you saw how effective the system is when players recover effectively. Wallace will be good and helping and recovering, but instead of charges, he will challenge people at the rim. Anyone think he can teach AV some things?

Actually, there was more to what Buecher said that were right on the money, but his four-sentence streak of being correct ended when made his last statement about next year's exprings.

Unfortunately, this awesome thread is coming to an end. Thanks for everyone involved for the very insightful discussions. (I was doing alot more reading than posting)
