Welcome 8th Pick from Brooklyn

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Meaningless poll, but lets play....where will the pick end up after the lottery?

If PG leaves, Presti would trade every player on that roster and the floorboards for a top-5 pick in this draft.

EDIT: Not including Westbrook, to be clear

Why? That makes little sense.

It’s not in every organizations DNA to just do full rebuild/sell offs when they lose one star or aren’t a top 5 team.

Especially teams in some of the smaller markets like Utah, OKC, and Memphis, were they’re the only pro game in town.

Even if George walks, what is the point in moving Adams? The better maximization of the remainder of Westbrook’s prime would be building around RW/SA, making smart trades, and hoping for luck in the the middle of the draft selections you end up with. If George walked, then you also just play out next season and either trade Melo as a huge expiring to get value players from a team looking to clear 2019 cap space or you just let Melo walk after next year an enter 2019 FA as with huge cap space

Getting smart player instead of TT is enough of an upgrade there. Dmc? Risky. Very risky.

Whatever we do it has to be some major positive upgrade to risk the potential of the draftee.

I wouldn't trade Adams for a top 5 pick.

Now, Westbrook on the other hand...I'd trade him asap if I was Presti and someone with a high draft pick was calling.

Wow. That’s an... interesting take, to say the least.

Look at a guy like Klay thompson. Even in the paint he is hard to stop. He is the same size and is not super athletic either.
I think Luka has better handles, so he can use that to create space, he already knows how to score.
Now imagine if he grew another inch or two and improved his shooting. Watch out.

Doncic is shooting 32% from 3 this year. When Klay Thompson was 18 he was shooting 41% from the college 3 point line, and Thompson has shot above 40% every single year he was in the NBA.

Being a great three point shooter is what makes Klay Thompson an all star. "Klay Thompson but a bad three point shooter" is not a particularly good player.

The Defense looks good, but I fear that he will constantly find himself in foul trouble. I might be VERY wrong here, but he seems very aggressive when playing D.

But, and I mean a HUGEEEEE but...if he is able to play the same type of D in the NBA and is ALLOWED to play the same way he is accustomed to...then he will be awesome to have on the team.

Can some of you pitch in...does his Defense look "illegal-ish" for the NBA game, or will he be OK?

It looked to me like a large percentage of Doncic's contests in that video were fouls. He seems to get a free chest bump on defense, even if said chest bump clearly knocks the offensive player off balance. I like the aggression, but he will have to unlearn those bad habits very quickly in the NBA, especially when it comes to defending three point shots when any contact at all with the shooter seems to get called.

Share the concern others have expressed here with how slow Doncic seems to be on video. He does give the physical feel of being a forward more than a PG. On the other hand, he is doing stuff no one has ever done at 18 in the Euroleague. But it's all too easy to imagine his physical skills as limiting him in the NBA.

It seems like downsides have emerged for a lot of the top guys in this draft. It just goes to show how tough it is to really tell who is going to be a star when you are drafting 18 and 19 year olds. I remember when the 2014 draft was going to be one of the greatest drafts ever. The consensus was very strong that it was historically great. But outside of Embiid it has not yet produced a player who looks like he will be a superstar. 2013 was supposed to be an awful draft, but now looks better than 2014 overall.

That was the previous year for Luka.
Klay averaged 39% in college and is 42% in the NBA
Luka averaged 37% last year. He's not far behind..
Now imagine what Luka's percentage could be as the second or third option like Klay has always been.

How about the Cavs scout athletic defensive centers and look in the second round to aquire one?
These bigs slide because they aren't taught much in the schools in this era so they need a lot of coaching up.
A lot.
That would be better then trying to trade for one.
Low cost.
They also need to try to see what Zizic has..it can take several seasons for a big to develop and we see examples of that throughout the NBA.
He may not have anything but don't just toss the guy away so quickly.

Not even mentioning Adams..that name shouldn't even come up.

Mark Cuban admitted that he told his players that it would be best if they lost games for the remainder of this season. And even if other owners of teams at the bottom wouldn’t go that far, they have every incentive to tank.

Shit guys.... mayday, mayday, I repeat, Mayday!

So what are we looking at here? 5th pick in the draft maybe? I have the Hawks, Suns, Sacramento(I believe in them still because they are young and hungry and Vivec, so they might surprise), Dallas all ahead of the Nets?

I believe Orlando, Chicago and Memphis pull their shit together. Orlando will get their players back, Chicago is better than the Nets and currently a game ahead of them and Memphis still still have Marc Gasol so who knows.

Fuckers are all blatantly tanking. We all were glad the draft reform was scheduled for next year, but boy do I want it now.

It's not that they won't be a top 5 team...it's that they won't be a playoff team, or even close. Hell, thanks to the Roberson injury, I'm not sure they make the playoffs *this* year. Take away Paul George and they basically have no choice but to rebuild.

Not sure how the Cavs can get into the 2nd round this year, I don’t believe we have a pick. Would have to make a roster change that we could get a 2nd rounder in return for making. We are out of cash to spend and aren’t gonna trade down with the Nets pick.

I suppose maybe we could send Zizic out of we think LBJ is staying, in favor of multiple 2nd rounders, maybe a draft & stash we like like Cedi? They really like Zizic though so they’d have to really have a specific guy in mind in the 2nd round.

They really like Zizic? is it tough love like my father showed me? No but, seriously, is it a new thing or their stance hasn't changed since the trade? has he shown good stuff in practice? I mean shoot around?
