NBA owner literally admits to instructing his players to lose on purpose

Adam Silver: *crickets chirping*

LeBron sits out his first game of the year and it happens to be nationally televised

Adam Silver: SOMETHING MUST BE DONE THIS IS COMPROMISING THE INTEGRITY OF THE GAME

That comment by Cuban is the very definition of cheating.

Their games are now "fixed".

They should lose their first round pick this year and next. If the NBA is ok with this and looks the other way, then they are as corrupt as it gets.

You could adjust their chances downward in the draft lottery to take away any benefit from tanking. That would be easy to do, stick them at the end of the lottery basically.

On the other hand, this wasn't done to Philadelphia. But Philly just had terrible teams, I don't think there is evidence they actually told people to lose.

Yeah, if you literally instruct your players to lose on record you have to lose your first round pick. You want to stop tanking Cuban is pitching the softest of all softballs for you to actually take action Silver. Like I’m amazed that a CURRENT owner admitted to trying to lose IN THE SEASON THEY ARE TRYING TO LOSE

If that shit stands... I mean wew

Not sure how the Cavs can get into the 2nd round this year, I don’t believe we have a pick. Would have to make a roster change that we could get a 2nd rounder in return for making. We are out of cash to spend and aren’t gonna trade down with the Nets pick.

I suppose maybe we could send Zizic out of we think LBJ is staying, in favor of multiple 2nd rounders, maybe a draft & stash we like like Cedi? They really like Zizic though so they’d have to really have a specific guy in mind in the 2nd round.
They did it just a few years ago when they bought a pick.
They could make a trade.
Dan is never out of cash..whats in your wallet?

While I might be of the thought they should try to see if Z can improve and develop , I don't know what they think.
But we will see.

@howler1313

Most of the PGs picked in the lottery from 2017 to 2008... I can add anyone you want, just give me a name.

*I realised that people don't look at our NBA Draft thread so I thought I would put this here as well.

This is all around the rim and floater percentage and how recent point guards in the lottery compare(in around the rim and floater percentage) to the top two PGs in the draft in Young and Sexton.

I didn't add Lonzo Ball because his 72 FG% was skewed because of high % of alley oops and uncontested layups off of cuts.

Kyrie I added Kyrie's PnR defense commits info because you could already tell he wasn't going to be a good playmaker back then. Very very poor when defense collapses and commits on every play style. Other than that, Kyrie was ranked in the 99% percentile on offense and the best offensive PG in my data.

Trae Young
Very high FG% on floaters and volume of floaters=bodes well.

Sexton
Low FG% around the basket+low FG% on floaters+highest FTr in college is bad.

Was abysmal in college, and still not great now.

I saw a few minutes of Tre Young last night and was not at all impressed.

No it’s not that Dan can’t afford it, teams can only send out 5.1 million in cash considerstions per year. The Cavs sent 3mil in the RJ/Felder trade and 2.1 in the George Hill trade. We are not allowed to send anymore cash, so we can’t buy a 2nd rounder in the draft. The amount resets I believe when free agency for next season begins. I guess maybe you can do a handshake deal where a team drafts a guy in the 2nd for you and holds onto him/his rights for a few weeks and then trades him for cash...but it’d be illegal and I’ve never heard of it happening lol.

Plus, with Cedi, Ante and whoever we draft in the lottery....if LBJ stays there’s simply no more room for developments rookies on the roster. Maybe there’s a draft and stash guy the Cavs like? Maybe there’s another luxury tax team that would trade a small salary into one of our trade exceptions and give us a 2nd round pick(that’d be an expensive ass 2nd rounder given our repeater tax situation)

Maybe the Cavs look to dump Korver for open money and a 2nd rounder? I dunno.

If there’s a guy the Cavs LOVE available somewhere in the 2nd round, I’m sure there’s ways the Cavs can obtain a pick, but it would come at some kind of cost because we can’t just buy one. I’d personally consider it unlikely.

Trae Young: 9 assists per game
The rest: 5 assists per game

Big XII conference is the toughest conference by far and he's being defended like no other. His coach has made minimal adjustment and they don't have any other play makers on that team. Not to mention they're ranked 337th in scoring defense. ESPN is giving him the 2014-2016 Curry treatment (AND comparing him to Curry) which is turning a lot of people off, but he can't control that. Even had a video of LeBron discussing whether or not he should come out. They got blown out by 40 yet Young is on the front page with a clip of him passing LMAO. A lot of people telling him to just pass the ball reminds me of how Kobe and the Lakers blew a lead to the Suns when Kobe stopped trying...the other guys just aren't good enough. Ben Simmons got the criticism when he went to LSU and didn't win game, so did Fultz. The guy could've went to Kentucky and shot over 50% from 3 but he's grinding away. I hate the NCAA super team dynamic (Duke has the top 3 players committed next season) so I admire guys like Young and Sexton for battling away.

I have a feeling we will draft him in the 4-7 range and Ty is looking a little too happy here:

Trae Young and LeBron James would make one hell of a thinning hairline combination, that's for sure.

I’m sorry, Trae Young is so fucking ugly. Like holy shit we can’t draft someone that looks like that while we have Kevin Love on the team. That’s just too much variance in physical appearance

Can’t imagine the Cavs would actually think about drafting Trae Young. I guess it wouldn’t surprise me considering how tone deaf they’ve been at times, but that’d be a big old swing and a miss. Even if Trae Young is good, he’s not the type of guy I want with LeBron.
