Welcome Larry Sanders and So Long

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As disconnected as this team is I don't think you can throw anohter variable in just yet. I think you have to hope that better offensive continuity will slow the hemophiliac bleeding on the other end.
I think @InBoobieWeTrust is right that you need to get him into practice with everyone, after the season, or at least after the Canton season, and then give him an extended run of 20-25 minutes in the last 2-3 games. They need to make Deron Williams a useful part of hte rotation and help JR Smith find his stroke and Love his timing these last few games.

And I hope against hope that Lue decides/realizes Derrick Williams gives them needed size and athleticism on the floor

Wow he is long and athletic, but as Dom says skinny.

Chris' point about how disconnected the team is is a good one, Lue seems confused by all the options he has right now, giving him another one could be counterproductive. But maybe we can bring Sanders on just to give TT more of a rest before the playoffs. We need TT to be fresh for the playoffs.

For me getting TT rest while getting Sanders real time minutes trumps the concerns about adding another variable. We're only talking about 10-12 minutes a game, except for any games where we sit and rest guys where Sanders can get a bunch of minutes for conditioning.

But I assume the Cavs will take the more conservative route and bring him along at the slower pace.

I think at the current stage we should just try him. Give him 10 Minutes for now and if he is showing signs of getting used to it give him 20-25 for a few Games to really get his legs.

Even if he is not close to his old self he still can give us hustle, some hard Fouls and 1-2 Blocks just by beeing on the Court.

I honestly don't see any harm in throwing him in to absorb regular season minutes at C for the rest of the season for the sole purpose of getting TT some needed rest. With the way this team has been playing as of late, there's no way Sanders hurts our chances to win games.

Best case scenario: He looks better than expected against NBA talent, plays with effort on the defensive end, and gets TT some needed rest.

Worst case scenario: He doesn't look ready yet, looks lost defensively, but still provides TT some needed rest.

Considering the entire team doesn't look ready for the playoffs yet, looks lost defensively, and TT needs rest, i say it's a win-win.

I agree to an extent. I think he does need to finish out the regular D league season. As far as adding another piece to an already disconnected group. He is different than adding another guard. I Think Lue is struggling with adding JR, Korver, Williams back into the rotation. Cavs have 5 guys that would play at least 25 minutes on a normal team. But Cavs are so thin at center he could help give TT a rest and allow Frye to play backup PF a little more.

But if Sanders isn't ready in the coaches eyes then I agree that Derrick Williams needs to get more time playing. I miss that big lineup with LBJ as PG.

Windy says that scouts have told him that Sanders is not yet ready (needs maybe a few more weeks) to play in the NBA, due to issues with Sanders' timing and slowness on rotations.

I'll post this info in the Windhorst thread in a few minutes.

Basically Windy saying that Sanders might need a few more weeks in the D-League and that Sanders looks like a guy who has not played in several years. But, Windy still feels that Sanders may be able to help here or there in the playoffs, once he gets his timing and speed back by playing more now.

We don't have a few more weeks. If Sanders doesn't get significant minutes during the regular season there's no way Lue will give him any minutes during the playoffs.

Lue has already completely mothballed Liggins and Derrick W. when there are times they would be worth a shot.

Lue would rather play veteran subs only so I'm pretty pessimistic that Sanders or Derrick W. will see the floor for the rest of the season.

And this is something I strongly disagree with.

Best ball of the season was with Liggins and then with Williams in the lineup. It was too good so we went away from it? I don't understand anything anymore.
Lue is so stubborn.. He is very unimaginative and our "depth" means nothing at the end of the day.
He has a fixed rotation and when role players are cold and provide nothing, he still rides them out instead of giving our other players a chance.

One of Blatt's strengths was that he had no fixed rotations. He rode the hot hand and sat the cold hand.
