What about trading Shaq?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You trade Z and JJ for a scoring Power Foward first, then you trade West and Wally SnT, before you trade Shaq.

We got Shaq for the playoffs because bigger teams rightfully abused us. Right now teams are PnR us to death, but that's not entirely shaq's fault ( not running trough screens, poor passing effort and help defense etc).

Oh okay; so blow up the entire team by the deadline? That's a good move.

i'd be down for this (from the wizards realgm board)

Wizards trade: PF Antawn Jamison / SF Caron Butler / SG DeShawn Stevenson
Cavaliers trade: CE Shaquille O'Neal / PF J.J. Hickson

just tell stevenson to stay the hell away from cleveland

Yeah, I don't think the Wizards would go for that. I dunno, if they were going to blow it up I'd think they'd try to get quality players for Butler (and they could), but if they really think they could attract FAs then a straight cap dump might interest them. Probably not though, Jamison alone is much more realistic.

Cavs say hell yes to that deal though.

No, you're definitely wrong.

You know who else is a 20 million dollar expiring? T-Mac. Houston is begging teams to take him.

a 20 million dollar contract makes a trade hard because it is so much money to match.

Shaq won't be traded. I'll guarantee it. I'll bet my life savings on it. Shaq's here for the rest of the year to try and help us finish the job in the playoffs. That's that..no point even discussing moving him.

This is incorrect.

This is incorrect.
Houston: The Rockets continue to offer Tracy McGrady(notes) in a trade, but that will be a difficult proposition considering he’s the highest-paid player in the league ($23.2 million) and no one has seen him play in nine months. Houston seems willing to take back a longer-term contract for McGrady, but most executives believe his high salary makes it hard to put together a package.

Rockets GM Daryl Morey and coach Rick Adelman don’t want McGrady back with the team, and have insisted that he isn’t physically ready to return to the lineup. McGrady would love a trade, but knows he must start playing again for it to be possible.

???

That article does not say we are begging teams to take him.

They are taking offers but are not desperate to get rid of him by any means. Letting him expire puts us ~7 million under the cap after resigning all our current guys. There have been offers from NY, Philly, Washington and Minnesotta thus far but all have been rejected.

We have no problem taking back bad contracts with an asset but it must have a value of 7 million + or there is no reason to just not let it expire. Implying we are begging for teams to take him is a huge leap from the truth.

We will not trade shaq or Z this season so relax everyone!!!!

The only major move we will do, is if a superstar like Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudamire, Dwayne Wade, or Chris Paul come available.

The cavs would trade JJ, Gibson, Green, two first round picks, Cash, and the salary difference would be made up with Wallys in a sign in trade situation...

you're completely wrong....

I have personally seen enough of Shaq, he does not help us in any way. The Orlando game was the equivalent of the sun shining on a dog's ass every once in a while. If we are banking on 2 quick fouls on Howard every time we play Orlando we are going to be in trouble.

I say we really need to move Shaq for players who can still play in the NBA.

I would even consider an Okafer and Peja deal for Shaq. Then move Z for Murphy or Jamison.

Okafer-Andy
Jamison-Andy-Lebron
Lebron-Peja-Moon
West-Parker-Gibson
Mo-West

I'm for trading shaq and Z. We could get a great player and bench depth for each. I like the Okafer + bench and murphy or jamison + bench. That brings in two starting quality bigs, plus leaves us Andy, who does a starters job in rebounds and defense, and can get 10-12 a night with no plays called for himself.

If we received one big and depth I would be all for getting a SG and depth too, so hopefully the cavs are actively shopping.

Either way shaq and z aren't working, and I can't see shaq playing well against Howard and Gasol-bynum when he can't play well against marginal centers.

Sick assets.

And yes as mentioned above you are completely wrong.

This team needs to make a trade to get younger in the frontcourt and tweak some weaknesses...but the more and more you watch them play trading Z is not going to help at all.
