What do we do now?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Use Jawad, a future first, and cash for a 1st rounder.

Sign either a mobile big man or bigger swingman.

Go from there.

Getting Shaq wont affect us re-signing Andy would it?

We still need a wing with length and a 4 who can defend guys like Lewis.

Do we have any more assets to get Childress?

Do we buy another 1st round pick?

I am hoping we can get CV (MLE), Childress (or someone similar), Brown with the 30th pick, and Clark/Williams/etc.... with a 1st round pick we buy.

Sign and trade Varejao since he doesnt fit anymore.

Yeah but it's not guaranteed Shaq is here past the trade deadline and he's most likely going to be gone after this year..

So we S&T a long-term contributor so that Shaq can fit here for probably 1 year?

I know he doesn't fit but it doesn't make sense long-term... Short-term? Yes Long-term? No, not really...

I just didnt know if he likes the fact that another big man is here to take his minutes. I don't know maybe I'm looking into this to much.

I say we S&T Andy and then sign CV for the MLE. Andy doesn't work with Shaq on offense, and his minutes at C would go down drastically. JJ and DJ are both going to get some burn, too, so AV's minutes could be limited next year, and CV fits in much better with Shaq.

If Andy can be traded right now I wouldn't be surprised if we trade him tomorrow and move up in the draft.

Ric Bucher:

On Shaq deal: Hedo/Dwight P&R killed them. Shaq never has been good at P&R D. He'll relieve LeBron on O, but they still need 1 more piece.

That is the most poignant thing Bucher has said in his career.

Id run 1-5 & 3-5 pick n rolls on the Cavaliers all game.

Well if we can't make Shaq work short-term, and he's not going to be here long-term, then why the hell did we just trade for him? We have Shaq for the short-term, so we better make it work short-term and worry about long-term later. Isn't that the whole point of this trade, otherwise why didn't we take Kaman or Chandler? Clearly Ferry and Gilbert want to win in 2010, and could care less about 2011, 2012, and 2013 at the moment.

All signs point to AV being gone. JJ and DJ will both get more time (W&G mentioned DJ will be seeing a lot more minutes next season), Shaq and Z will take up all the minutes at C... AV's minutes will start to drop because he played both PF and C, and now he will also

Why sign a guy that you cant play with your savior acquisition? Youre going to pay Varejao 8M or so to play just 24-25mpg?

Playing Varejao with Shaq means big-to-big double teams on Shaq and him also being fronted.
