What if we land #1 pick?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Actually the list was since the 3 pointer was introduced.

If you mean russel as in bill russel he was 6 foot 9. not 7 foot at all

Tim duncan is 6-11 not a 7 footer.

Kevin Garnett is not a 7 footer. he also is 6-11

Meanwhile during the same time period .

130 guys 7 foot or taller made it into the nba to at least play 80 games.

Thats around 4 a year for the last 32 years. 15 of them managed to play more than 80 games and produce a 15 PER or better. thats a return of 10% pver 30 years.

Its been mentioned numerous times that KG is most likely 7-0, but prefers to be listed at 6-11 (probably for some sort of psychological edge, I don't know... KG is crazy).

Duncan is almost always viewed as a 7-footer.

In any event though, discarding those two because they are listed an inch shorter is really splitting hairs.

KG was quoted early in his career that he was 6'11 because 7 footers played center, and he didn't want to play center.

Duncan goes by the 6-11 and PF moniker so he could make all star games when Shaq was out west.

If we got the first pick I would let Trent Richardson do whatever he wanted to me...

why the hell arent there any more centers? People didnt stop being tall, nba players' salaries compared to civillians' disparities didnt grow smaller..

Wish I had been 7 foot tall. I've got post moves out the ass, and footwork like you wouldn't believe. I relish the contact underneath.

Unspeakably worthless post. Jabbar, Olajuwon, Robinson, O'Neal, Duncan, and Dirk hate the way you undervalue bigmen. They want to know which championship teams didn't have a significant post player.

The 7 foot center offensive powerhouse is a myth. only 15 centers since 1979 measured at 7 foot or taller with a 15+ per. two of them arent even centers. Also you dont need a three who can hit a three. Defense is the most important attribute for a three. Davis has the ball handling skills as well as the passing ability to make an impact at this position. he most likely would be ready for this position out of the gate

You probably should have just typed that last line. The rest just makes you sound like an idiot who cannot formulaute a persuasive paragraph. The subject here is that Davis should learn the kind of bigman skills that Duncan, Garnett, and Dirk have learned rather than trying to be an overgrown small forward like Anthony Randolph. Arguing who is 6'11 instead of 7 foot is completely inconsequential to the discussion.

Actually. that was one line of a three line post. in which i made the comment about 7 footer. then I started talking about small forwards and their ability to hit the three. Then I suggested Davis would be best suited to start out at the three. similiar to clifford robinson and boris diaw.

I did assume that DaveK was referring to the 7 foot center beccause he has made references to it in the past.

Meanwhile your the one who chose to make an argument about 7 footers with various insults and such.

My argument is, and has always been, that Davis should be taught the skills necessary to be a PF/C rather than wasting his time learning to be a small forward. That is where the best shot blocker in recent NCAA history will make the biggest impact. I got on your case because you attempted to swerve the discussion toward a very limited point about seven footers, which you did poorly by ignoring the impact of 6'11 players.

Plus the height to the top of one's head doesn't really matter that much anyway in comparison to standing reach or wingspan.

I heard several years back that Flip Saunders, I think, referred to KG as being "6'13." Still, though, I'm sure this all goes back to the fact that KG is insane.

Davis has the skillset to play all three frontcourt positions. why wouldnt you want to utilize that versatility.

Id rather see Davis on the court then playing limited minutes because he isnt strong enough to hold his ground

He is pretty strong. Robinson could not push him around and he is a moose. Posters made similar comments about Tristan, including me by the way, that he was too small to handle the middle. Yet he fared much better than I expected at center at the end of the season and did not get injured.

I am not sure that it matters what you call him. If he wants to be a power forward, call him a power forward. I think you could play he and Tristan as your bigs and they would function a lot like the Wallace's. Maybe that's enough. No matter what you call him, he is going to block shots, rebound like a vacuum cleaner and do offensive damage in the lane. He does remind me a bit of Garnett, but appear to be smarter. Garnett has surprised me with his durability, given he is not big wide. But he is tough as nails and yes a tad insane.. If that is Davis trajectory, he deserves that number one position...

I'd say so. Plus, there are almost no real centers left that a guy like Davis couldn't handle. Other than Dwight, who could realistically abuse a guy like Davis? We'll just sign one of the Collins twins and the problem is solved.

I dont think theres any debate about Davis being the first pick in the draft.

:chuckles::chuckles::chuckles:

Everyone's got great moves at the YMCA.

Well, not everyone. With my single digit vert, and knees you can hear when I run.... Think 6'3 Timofey Mozgov, with a beer gut and you about have it.

If we get Davis and then get a legit wing with our second pick I think we are a playoff team next year especially in the weak east. Who scares you in this conference?
