I will be pissed because I don`t think this team is good enough.I thought he blew it last year with Wally`s and this year he should ship Z to Washington,I think we can live without his 6 points,2 boards,4 fould and 2 TOs.

If it were as simply as shipping out Z, the deal would have been done by now. As has been reported everywhere on this board, the Wiz want a lot more and Ferry simply won't overpay for Jamison or Iguodala or Murphy for that matter. I know a lot of posters seem to think that all Ferry has to do is wait the Wiz out and they will make the deal at the deadline. I'm not convinced the Wiz will fold or won't find another trading partner for Jamison. If Iguodala & dalembert is a deal that can be done now without mortgaging the ranch, then I would prefer to see Danny pull the trigger and move forward.

But sending JJ, Danny Green, and a pick isn't overpaying for Iggy. Really, it's hard for us to overpay because 1) he has a lot of value due to his age/skill, and 2) we don't have much to overpay with. With Jamison, he's not worth a whole lot because of his age, defensive liability, and recent injury trend (yes, I know he's been very healthy up until this season - still a bit of a red flag). In that case it's easy to overpay because he's not worth JJ and a pick....but Iggy is. The only way we'd overpay for Iggy would be if they demanded JJ, Green, Delonte, and a pick....but I don't see why they'd be that greedy since we're actually willing to take on Dalembert.

Amare? Yao? Anyone? Hello?
wat?

Amare is going to be signing a new deal this off-season, and if we don't trade for him now we simply won't get him anytime soon. Although it doesn't necessarily reflect on the front office's opinion of Amare, W&G has shown some reservation when dealing for him. Yao.....probably won't be leaving Houston, and even if he did bringing him in would solely depend on how much cash he demands. I'm not paying 15M for a 30 year old who can't stay healthy.

Other than that, there really aren't any "star" centers who could possibly be had. Maybe Kaman.....but that's about it.

Of all the names being brought up, Iguodala is the only one I would give up young assets for.

I wouldn't be opposed to Amare but he does bring a lot of risk--free agency and possibly leaving after the season, serious injuries, character and attitude questions, and defensive effort and intensity. All that leads me not making an Amare trade.

Iguodala is a quality still young player who does defend and all signs point to him not having any problem doing what it takes to fit in.
I'd do all I can to avoid having to give up Hickson to Philly. If it has to be done than I'd want Jason Smith back and try to avoid giving up #1's in a deal.

Yeah, I'd offer the most for Iggy.

Amare is a touchy situation. He's talented, but as you mentioned there are multiple red flags with him. Ultimately, the front office, coaches, and LeBron/Shaq would need to get together and talk about it. If they decide that he can work here, and they're comfortable with giving up JJ or Delonte or whoever.....then I don't think I'd complain much.
