AND ORLANDO
edit: ok maybe boston

As we get closer to D-day, I grow more and more concerned that we end up staying pat. As much as I believe we are good enough to win it this year, I would be beyond upset if we don't somehow improve considering the position we are in. The Iggy thing really has me going and even if it's not him, I think Ferry has to use the some of our expiring assets to improve and it would be icing on the cake if it was young talent like Iggy.

I'll try my best not to freak out, but I will be of the opinion that it'll go down as one of the worst moves in franchise history.

Worst moves in franchise history?? Please.

I actually WANT to stand pat. This team is better than last years team as they can play against multiple styles. Now, if we can get get a sweetheart deal, for a Jamison or something I wouldn't be disappointed.

I agree, I think we stand pat.
We match up well with the competition as currently constructed.
Obviously, if Ferry can get a piece like Jamison for monopoly money, then I think he pulls the trigger.
However, I don't think that's likely.

It'd be proven, as I said, to be the worst move in franchise history come June and then again in July.

You honestly think we couldn't beat LA, Boston, or Orlando in a 7 game series? (probably having homecourt too)

IMO our team is good enough to win one now. It's evident by our record against those teams i just mentioned (Only played boston once, first game)

Any deadline deal is just bonus. I just hope Ferry doesn't get too trigger happy and ruin what we already have. It could be argued that if a trade is made for someone and it fails miserably, that could be the worst move in franchise history.

"Probably having home court", now we're calling home court ours 3 months before the season ends. Nice, nice.

I never said we COULDNT. I just find it funny that everyone is falling into the same trap as last year. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice...

A deadline deal is hardly "a bonus," it is something that could ensure the stability of the franchise for years to come. "A bonus"...rofl

"What will your reaction be if no trade is made?"

Ferry couldn't get a deal that worked. He felt it best to stay pat. I trust Ferry, so if he didn't like anything, I'm very fine with going with what we have now.

Actually wanting to stand pat is just flat out absurd and extremely short-sighted.

Sigh, I guess some will simply never understand...

Some people are just very short sighted and only thinking about this year. Tunnel vision basically.

You do realize we could still get other "Parker/Moon" pieces next year, right? Instead of swingmen, it'll fill the positions of big men if Z and Shaq leave. And by the way, Moon and Parker (and West technically) are expirings next year, you know?

There are a lot of variables, but you ultimately have to do what upgrades the team. If there are no options that upgrade the team (maybe asking price is too high or we can't get Z back or the player just isn't that good or young enough), then you stand pat. I really doubt no options exist to improve this team.

I don't want to expect a trade, but I can't help it.

Moon is not expiring next year, he was signed to a 3 year deal. And yes, Parker is an expiring. Woah buddy, that $3M expiring contract is going to do some damage come the trade deadline! Not to mention, if we trade Parker then guess what? Hole at SG! So we move Delonte into the starting lineup, then guess what? No back court bench! That will really improve our team.

We still do not have a legitimate second option, and we won't get one with the MLE. Or with a 3 million dollar expiring contract. Or with the 20-something pick in the draft. Or with the non-existent cap space.
