Will Cavs make run at Bosh this summer?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bosh is fool's gold to me. I don't see him stepping up and helping his team win that much. His numbers are good, but KG still gets the best of him. When we play them, he wilts away. I just don't want any more finesse players. We have too many shooters on the team IMO. I am ready to find out what JJ has to offer as our future PF. Let's keep looking for a young C, and get a decent sg in the meantime.

And instead they want a 30 year old Scola?

That lengthens their time on the treadmill of mediocrity. Hell, that team probably wouldn't even be mediocre.

They need any youth they can get.

I'd take a 30 year old Scola that was putting up quality numbers over a busted Jordan Hill that couldn't even buy playing time in New York.

I just hope somehow someway Gilbert pulls a fast one and lands a big talent this off season. I know there is pretty much no way for it to happen, but it's such a huge summer I can't believe we won't be able to partake.

We are the front runners of the biggest FA in the history of the game. Teams have literally taken years off to try to gather enough space to sign him. fortunately for us we didn't need to.

That's a given. I'm talking about adding a piece that makes us perennial favorites, rather than having to reload on old veterans every other trade deadline to scrap together championship teams.

Yeah I know, but still honestly as long as we retain LeBron we will be fine. I to would like to get another great player, we could go from a perennial contender to a perennial champion with the addition of Bosh, JJ, Paul, Wade, etc. We have a lot of trade chips, hopefully Ferry can get us a monster steal in the offseason.

What trade chips? Do the Cavs have a lot of expiring contracts or something?

Shaq S&T
Hickson
West (non-guaranteed deal)
Williams (non-guaranteed deal)

You can even add in Mo Williams and Jamison as Mo has a decent contract for starting PG and Jamison is a good player with only 2 years left. Those two would be the more unlikely to be traded but it depends who we might end up with.

Can you REALLY see Shaq being used in a sign and trade...come on

That's what I was thinking, too. Do you think Shaq is going to agree to a sign-and-trade that sends him to, of all places, Toronto? He's only been here for a little less than a year, so he doesn't feel any sense of loyalty to help out the franchise, especially if it involves him moving on.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: the Cavs' best chance of landing Bosh would involved Jamison, Hickson, and maybe even the rights to Eyenga. Could a team like Houston be able to put up an even better offer, one that involves maybe Scola and Jordan Hill? Or even Portland if they're looking to add a serious sidekick next to Brandon Roy and possibly move Aldridge and/or Oden?

I just have no idea how anything we do could land us Bosh or even a Joe Johnson caliber player. I hope Gilbert and Ferry have aces up their sleeves, but I just don't know enough about it.

Discussion will be rampant after the Finals, no doubt. Let's hope it's with a trophy in our hands.

Sooo.....apparently Bill Simmons has said, according to 2 well-connected people, that Bosh to LA for Bynum is basically a done deal?

Delonte is basically an expiring, Telfair, Moon/AP are expirers after this season (team options).

Then we have young talents like JJ, Eyenga (TO liked him apparently), Green, and even Boobie.

A package of Delonte, Moon, JJ, Telfair, Eyenga, Boobie would be enough salary I think to get the deal done if Toronto would accept.

Expirings have negative value in S&T's unless most or all of the contract is not guaranteed (Delonte, Dampier, etc).

Agreed, but if Toronto gets a couple young players like Hickson, Eyenga (whom supposedly they love), wouldn't that make up for it? They still get cap room next year too.

Why not? Wouldn't that be the easiest money he has ever made? Then he can do a Ben Wallace and just sign with someone else after be cut (bought out)?
