We don't have the personal needed to form a dynasty. Mo is not LeBron's Pippen, hell, he is not even LeBron's Kerr at this point.

We either have to get a legit Pippen for LeBron, or we need to get someone who can defend the post. Championships are won and lost in the paint, and we have no one who can control the paint defensively. Scoring would be nice, but if we had Kendrick Perkins or Tyson Chandler, we would be up 3-1 in this series or perhaps we would have even won the series already.

I'm sorry, but Z is not a starting caliber center on many championship caliber teams, at least not one without an effective PF. Z's been great to us, but his time as anything more than a situational 15 mpg player is up. He looks spent. He looks slow, weak, tired.

We don't have the pieces in place for a dynasty. We have a start, but we have no low post presence defensively. None at all.

Look the remaining teams in the playoffs:

Denver: Nene and Birdman
LA: Pau and Bynum
Orlando: Dwight and Gortat
Cleveland: Z and AV?

Seriously, you aren't going to win many games with Z and AV as your starting 4 and 5 if you're going against the players the other teams have... we have no post presence on either side of the ball, and that's our main problem.

I've been pissed we didn't get Shaq or RJ since the trade deadline passed, but I was happy enough because we were winning games still, and looked great. However, we didn't even need either one of them. New Orleans traded Chandler for expirings (Joe and Chris Wilcox) before that trade was rescinded. Would it have taken anything more than Wally + 1st for him? I doubt it. Tyson Chandler is no Shaq, not even close, but if we had just Tyson Chandler (granted, he'd have to be healthy) instead of Wally this series, we win.

You can't mention Denver's low post defense without mentioning Martin. He's probably the best post defender on that team and he's doing a great job so far.

I think we HAVE to let Wally and Joe Smith walk. We also have to try our best to get rid of Sasha.

Obviously with those guys gone someone needs to step in, Darnell and Hickson have to play ALOT MORE next year. Give them a chance to prove themselves.

Also Ferry has try and get someone with the Full MLE.
Guys like Ariza should be at the top of the list. Even Kleiza would be good, much better than Wally is at this point and he would definitely be huge against a team like Orlando. He could guard Rashard ALOT better than Varaejao/Ben have.

The biggest thing of all though has to be getting rid of Z. He CANNOT be our starting center next year.

What big moves do you make? We're strapped with aging vets and guys who cant deliver on the big stage.

We definitely need to strengthen up our front court. That should be our number 1 priority, we need to get younger and find someone who can defend/put some points on the board. I still want AV back, and i think he will definitely be cheaper than what we might have thought. But i do not want him to start, he is perfect for our bench.

We need a new front court... Both spots..

Let Wally, Joe, Lorenzen walk.

Trade Sasha and Ben.

Turn all that into two guys who can score by themselves: one being a big and the other being a guy who can play off the dribble.

Defense should NOT be a concern with either of these guys. You get the best offensive players available and you trust that Mike will get them to play d to their full potential. At this point, the Cavs are in dire need of guys who can score without relying on LeBron.

Mo is capable of doing it but doesn't have the size to do so when his jumper is not falling. Same goes for Delonte, who being a less emotional player is actually a better option than Mo in many situations. If you want to beat the Orlando's of the world, you're going to have to match or at least counter their size.

Any person coming here will be fine defensively. Front court help...please

I know it will probably never happen but the two guy I would really like here would be:
Amare and Linas Kleiza.

That would give us the front court scoring to keep up with teams like Orlando and the Lakers and also the defense.

We could play Amare at the 5 and Kleiza at the 4 against Orlando. While Amare would give us the scoring at the 4 position we need against teams like the Lakers.

What big moves do you make?

You make whatever big moves present them selves at whatever cost they present them selves at; if Phoenix offers us Amare and garbage (to make the $$ work) for Ben, AV, Sasha, Boobie and a first, we do it without question.

If Toronto wants the same thing for Bosh, do it.

If New Orleans offers Tyson for Ben, Boobie, and a first, do it.

As someone said in another thread:

LeBron, Mo, and Delonte are the only players that can't be traded. I'd hate to see Z go, and I don't see us getting much back in return for him anyways, so I feel like he's safe from a trade, but I think he'd get bought out and come back anyways.

Either Ferry makes the big move in 2009, or LeBron will be the one making the big move in 2010.

Bottom line is this team is not on the brink of a dynasty. Z's not going to get any younger, neither is Ben or Joe. Andy seems to have reached his ceiling. AV + JJ front line with DJ backing them up does not equal a dynasty. Could it equal a title or two? Perhaps, because LeBron is on the team. We'd have to get lucky and not run into Dwight Howard and his 3 point shooting friends in the playoffs, however.

If JJ develops like most think he will into a 15-17 ppg scorer down low, then all we need is a big who puts up 8/12 at the center and plays great D.

We need young superstars right now. VC would have been ok last season, but not next season. I agree with a front court upgrade. Amare or Bosh would be perfect. Even someone on a bad team like Al Jefferson once they realize they aren't going to make anything.

The Lakers, Spurs and Celtics proved that you can't win it all without a great scoring big man. Even one really good big would be awesome. Then we can get Ariza if LA doesn't resign him. I think it might be between him and Odem.

But we didn't need a trade this year at the deadline.

**** this man. I can't believe this is happening again. Well I can, but I can't. You know what I mean.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.

This team needs a LOT of help. Especially on the bench but also starters in the front court. Nothing you can do in one offseason. I don't see Ferry having much room to do squat.

Just because we don't match up w/ ONE team, we need A LOT of help?

We didn't win SIXTY-SIX games by accident..

This is exactly what I hope Danny Ferry doesn't do this offseason.. over react & panic..

We don't need to rebuild.. we need a couple more (or better) pieces.. that's it
