Windhorst: Cavs May Call Pistons Soon

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And we all have Jamison avatars...

We all may be forced to switch to Tayshaun Avatars...

Where's the *WW* at for this?

Naked pics of Tayshaun in the trade forum.......turrible

I wouldn't mind Rip, although he hasn't been doing all that well this year. If it was for something with Delonte and filler, I would probably pull the trigger. I like Delonte more, but I think Rip can be a consistent piece in our lineup without the mental problems (sorry, Delonte). If it required giving up Big Z or another piece that we could trade for Murphy or Jamison, I'd probably be against it.

Edit: It would be hard to come up with a two team deal for one of Det's players, but interestingly enough, a three way with Rip and Jamison coming to Cleveland, Z going to Washington, and Delonte and Moon (big loss with Moon, but Jawad has shown he could fill in at the 3 and Jamison could play some there too) going to Det works. How ironic would it be to trade with the two teams that might hate us the most from the past decade.

Mo/Boobie
Rip/Parker/Green
Lebron/Jawad
Jamison/AV/JJ
Shaq/Z/AV
Would Ferry take on all that salary though?

the pistons that i'd be interested in (that they'd be interested in trading) would be kwame (for another body to throw at dwight) or cv (if all other murphy or jamison scenarios fall flat)

i'm not really interested in either rip or tay...i think there would be better sg alternatives if we were to explore that route

Is this eating crow for you? I am assuming that red x is a crow, its blovked at work.

You are Jamison or nothing, I don't want to see you in other trade threads, you made your bed now you get to sleep in it. :chuckles:

This is why I am staying open minded, besided if you don't get emotionally invloved in things you do not control, you won't be disappointed.

We really need to start thinking of alternatives if the Jamison or Murphy deals fall through. Just my honest opinion, but relying on Mo to be our 2nd scorer for a 6 week playoff run makes me very nervous. If you disagree fine, but the playoff performance of last year is a piece of major evidence against your point.
The fact that RIP is averaging 18 ppg despite a poor shooting start (remember he is just now getting healthy) tells me that the guy can still be relied on as a second scorer. Think of how much pressure he would take off Mo's hands. Mo is at his worst when he is forcing his game and trying to do too much. With Parker as the starting 2, it puts a ton of pressure for Mo to score every night, while RIP could compliment him and Lebron very well. Obviously, I would rather have Jamison, Murphy or David West as my 1st wish. But to simply dismiss RIP so quickly is to me unsound judgement.

Rip Hamilton would be great for nothing.

Cavs still have to be worried about what happens to Delonte.

windhorst is an idiot. he doesnt know anymore than we do. he always seems to state the obvious

I have respect for both players but I think this has to be a huge fallback plan. Even if they want an upgrade at SG, that position should be left for someone who has a solid 3 pt shooting %. Rip is not a 3 pt shooter, and he certainly isn't this year in the slightest bit.

Parker fills this need well, but I understand the frustration a lot of people have with him - he may have been able to create his own shot before, but that side of him only shows up for 1 game out of 10.

Even though I know SG is a bit of a weakness, I just don't see it anywhere near as important as PF is right now. I don't even see it as a contest, because if we get a guy like Jamison than I'm more than satisfied keeping Parker as our 5th option offensively.

I just don't see how a guy like Rip outweighs the rest of the names coming up.

I could not disagree more! What other beat reporter breaks news and info as much as Windy? There is a reason that the PD took him way from the ABJ> You must not have been around for the Branson Wright era. If you were you would realize how foolish your statement is. Besides Wine and Gold, no one will give you more info on the Cavs.

Both of these players would be able to come in and defend the way Mike Brown wants to defend: rotating, challenging, suffocating. Jamison has never done these things in his career.

I'm certain that the miles on their legs are an issue, but we aren't talking about players we want to give 35 minutes a night. These guys would need to be part-timers, basically insurance for Delonte's health and legal future.

What about getting Hamilton and Murphy, how feasible is that?
