Windhorst: Cavs May Call Pistons Soon

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have always thought that Rip Hamilton would be the PERFECT fit for the Cavs. That would be limited to Mike Browns usage of him, which I cant see him getting right. If we could have Rip running off screens popping mid-range it would be amazing. I think I still like the idea of having the whole paint open with a stretch 4 like Jamison.

What about getting Hamilton and Murphy, how feasible is that?

Depends on whether Gilbert would spend major money on a Wally sign-and-trade I guess. And whether or not Detroit and/or Indiana is only willing to trade those 2 for expirings with minimal if any talent in return (of course this part can be negated if Ferry works his crazy 3, 4, or 30-team deals :chuckles:).

Best case scenario: we land Hamilton and Jamison...

How in the hell do were form chemistry for a playoff run? I mean those 2 guys would be integral parts....

If you get Hamilton, Murphy would be the more logical choice at PF than Jamison.

I really don't care to have Rip or Prince. Delonte and AP are better than both of them.

You are crazy. How are you legitimately asking us that question? you act like we already will or have traded for these guys already.

If our lineup was Mo, Rip, Bron, Jamison, and Shaq I would bet my house that we would win a championship. I have no interest in Prince, we already have guys that are similar to him. Rip on the other hand I would take over Parker everyday of the week.

please no hamilton. it seems like we always trade for players 5 years later than we should have. (shaq, ben wallace, hughes) and now rip lol. if this was 4-5 years ago, i would be all over this

I think Rip is tremendously unmotivated in Detroit. He has amazing stamina so I am not really concerned about his legs. Put him on a contender and you would see something similar to the original Rip re-emerge...

I think Hamilton has atleast 3 more years left in him, SGs like him that run off screens all game generally have longevity, his entire game is based on stamina and not quickness or speed.

It is not likely ( I really dont see it happening) but if we did land any combination of Murphy, Jamison with Hamilton, I will see you all Dontownl at the Parade the third week of June as we river dance into the downtown streets.

the only good thing about getting prince is we would get to hear austin carr yell things involving the king and the prince all game.

I worry about Hamilton. They masked it in Detroit for years because they had Ben and Chauncey was so good, but he's kind of a defensive liability. He can't defend the bigger guys at all and has trouble containing small guards as well.

Another thing is his game. I think he could potentially fit well into the offense, except his best attribute is running off of screens and being in constant motion and getting his number called. We were supposed to have a guy to run off screens and hit those jumpers all-day, but we get Parker one of those shots on an average of once every 5 games. If we did that with Rip we'd render him ineffective and his contract is a serious concern.

I'd keep my eye on Rip, but I'd also look elsewhere first.

unless its a kuester for brown trade, we arent interested.:chuckles:

I don't get the fascination with Kuester.

The dude is a life-time assistant who failed miserably in his first college head coach gig for a reason, because he is and should be an assistant. He hasn't gotten anything special from that Detroit team and they look like hot garbage. Their schemes suck. He can't motivate them. If you thought MB looked dumb on the sidelines, watcha Detroit game while they're getting ran over, Kue is literally caught staring into space probably thinking about how good his reputation was just a year ago because he got the credit for LeBron James being surrounded by a bunch of shooters. Kuester is nothing without LeBron and Mo Williams.

what did you expect after they gutted their roster and used their salary to bring in ben gordon and charlie to a defensive minded team
