Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar

Re: Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar.

This should be a no brainier

Re: Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar.

Camby is us getting older, when we're trying to get younger. Getting weakside post defense when we want man-to-man post defense. I don't like it.

Re: Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar.

A center who has been injured each of the last two seasons as well as an old center! SWEET  I thought we were going to get younger?

Re: Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar.

Maybe I'm too gung ho about this, but if Kaman can stay healthy, that kid could be a beast on our team.

I remember watching a Cavs Clippers game 2 years ago and being totally blown away. Being a Clipper, I barely knew he existed, but the kid is sick.

7'0", 270, only 27 years old. He's a MONSTER rebounder, solid defender, and has true big man post moves going either way, including a decent turnaround jumper. He also runs the floor as much as Andy does for a big man... he hustles and is a big you'll see on the break pretty often.

It's a shame he hasn't made it through an NBA season yet though without some sort of injury.

But, if healthy, he'd be exactly what this team needs.

Definitely. He is a great rebounder, great post player, and would become our first bigman who plays like a BIG MAN. Then he has the size and strength to contend with Howard. He's what we need.

Re: Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar.

Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman, though, are two centers who are on the Cavs' radar and could be trade targets.

This better not be the best the Cavs can do this offseason. Damn it Ferry.

Re: Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar.

I would take Kaman in an instant. His athleticism for a 7 footer is really special. Great on defensive boards, good on offensive boards, very good shot blocker, has established post moves, and average defensively. His hustle also reminds me a lot like Andy. I also bet Mike Brown will polish up his defense. I would still like to find a really physical presence down low but I think starting with Kaman would be good.

Re: Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar.

Chris Kaman is not that athletic and the foot injury does not help him either. He is a decent defender but not a great one.

IMO, compared to most 7 footers hes one of the most athletic.

I sincerely doubt this is all that Ferry is looking at. I am sure this is merely one of many irons he has in the fire.

There's no doubt about it. I've been high on Freakshow for a while.

I remember watching his highlight reel when he was drafted shortly after we got LeBron. It seemed like his game wasn't flashy and he wasn't anything special to look at, but the guy can just play ball. He's ambidextrious so he can finish at the rim with either hand from about eight feet in. I would be very happy with Kaman as our center.

The good thing about Kaman is that it would give me another white guy to root for when Z is off the floor.

Would much rather have Okafor...he is an all around better player imo.
