Windhorst: Kaman and Camby on Cavaliers' radar

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think if it comes between kaman and okafor (assuming same assets to get) i lean toward Kaman. He is more of a true all around center, but either would be good options.

Not sure I would want to touch camby at this point of his career for anything mroe than a Lorenzon wright type role...he just cant stay healthy.

It's funny that you would say that regarding Camby rather than Kaman, seeing as how Kaman has played 56 and 31 games the last two years, respectively. (Camby, on the other hand, has played 79 and 62 games the last two years.)

The injury history is the big concern with Kaman. He has put up some nice stats when he is healthy, but of all the players on our radar this trading season he probably has some of the biggest injury concerns this side of Elton Brand.

This might be a mitigated a bit since Z probably still has a good 2-3 years left. With Z still around, maybe we could coax 75 games out of Kaman by limiting him to about 20-24 minutes a game - and then more in the playoffs, as needed. Still, though, it's a risk with this injury history.

Does anybody else look at Kaman and see a poor man's Pau Gasol?

Actually yes. To a degree. Pau's still ahead of him, but I suppose that's the definition of 'poor man's', eh?

Couldnt Kaman play PF and allow him to play with a defensive Center and give a team a very big frontcourt?

That would be the equivalent of the Lakers front court of Gasol and Bynum. And it would be great.

No.. Pau is extremely skilled, extremely gay, and runs the floor extremely well..

Pau is extremely

Kaman, albeit less extremely, is perfect for this community... Kaman looks like Cleveland...

Actually, if Kaman was our center, I wouldn't mind Andy starting. Hopefully our first big off the bench won't suck.
