Chris Fedor wrote a click bait article, headlining this lost is the drive, fumble, etc.

Dude needs punched right in his stupid face.

I unfollowed him after he kept tweeting about watching The Bachelor. Or whatever that stupid show is called. I don't like him as a writer either.

I just remembered you guys also had this subforum. First off congrats on the Cavs title. While I was openly rooting for Warriors the Cubs fan in me was happy for you guys on this forum cause I know you guys are die hards.

I underestimated the Indians. I thought this was going 5 at the most. Shows how much a team can accomplish together. I went to game 2 in Cleveland and I loved the experience. Progressive Field is great. Even though it was packed the concessions were quick and easy. You could easily leave at the end of an inning and be back before the next pitch. Also for the most part the Cleveland fans were very nice. So I felt good coming home. Despite losing the next two I still thought we had a chance with the 3 starters we were sending out. I went to game 5 in Chicago and was sitting next to a few Indians fans. Two groups of fathers and sons that made the trip. When Ramirez homered I was like oh fuck. But the Cubs pulled it out and eventually lived to make it to game 7. At that point I had no idea what was going to happen. As it turns out it was an epic game that was worthy of this series. When Kipnis hit that foul in the 9th my heart stopped. It sounded great off the bat but he got in front of it. Even going into the bottom of the 10th with a 2 run lead I still felt like it was not enough. Props to the Indians team for their relentlessness. The one thing that was missing here was that the fan bases do not dislike each other since they rarely play each other. Seems like both teams are built to be able to possibly make this a potential recurring matchup in the playoffs.

Seriously, I hope we get a LeBron James type Cleveland writer that puts people like Fedor out of a job.

Like...I get it, you're being nice...

But the winners fans coming in and going "you guys were good" blah, blah, blah and pandering never ends well...just comes off as patronizing, regardless of the intentions.

Eh. If he isn't going to be an asshole about it, then what could we possibly say to him? We should have won? Michael Martinez was robbed? If they played four more games, Napoli's bat would have eventually made contact with the ball? They won. They should have won. We fought like hell anyway.

That's fine...just don't come into the opposing teams thread less than 12 hours after it happened expecting good feelings...that's all I'm saying here.

Again, it comes off as patronizing.

I sure as shit wouldn't be in Cubs threads saying "you guys are good" today had last night gone the other way...

If Gomes takes that walk from Chapman in the 9th, we're celebrating a World Series championship right now..
100% agree(i think you mean the 8th)...Chapman was imploding and Coco just stole second with the ball getting away and into the outfield on the throw

I'm not complaining about morgwon's post, especially in relationship to the many fatalistic or woe-are-us posts during and after the game. Fans of other teams are welcome here if they take the high road.

Neither am I...like I said, I get he is being nice and complimenting the team...but he should have waited. It just comes off wrong so soon after, at least to me.

I understood that the pain of loss is too fresh for saying "great series, Cubs". But I would take a rational post from a Cubs fan over some of the garbage posted upthread. Plus morgwon is a Warriors fan, so he'll never get to forget June 2016. :chuckle:
