Re: Yi To Bucks: No
Honestly, that's all matter of opinion.. If it was the case, I truly believe teams like ATL, Memphis, and Boston (or Seattle making that selection) would have pulled the trigger on him if the general consensus was indeed, Yi is a hands down lock superstar... It's a matter of an opinion, and I'm not so sure I believe he's going to be a star...The guys that were doing the post draft show on NBAtv certainly don't believe so...Seattle could have made a huge splash with Durant and Yi, and they passed on it for some reason..TJ_4_CV31 said:However, all of your hating aside, you have to admit that Yi was the 3rd best prospect in a draft that's even deeper than Lebron's 2003 draft with potentially greater overall talent (when considering that Oden will undoubtedy achieve what Lebron with an aging Z will not).
Again, a shared opinion by only a few...TJ_4_CV31 said:Sure Stern punished the 3 tanking teams by exercising the less than 1% chance that three teams would hop over the the 3 teams with the league's worst records. The fact that the Bucks still nabbed the 3rd best prospect in the draft at pick 6 surely sticks in Stern's craw.
Bucks wouldn't be stupid enough to take him again..From an outsider looking in, it doesn't look like a BOLD, brave, calling of the bluff type of move, but more so an idiotic selection that really does nothing to help the Bucks in their major weaknesses, and might be a move that ultimately ruins the franchise in the long run...The Bucks needed a sure bet with this draft, and they got anything but...TJ_4_CV31 said:Yi's handlers have very little leverage against the Bucks. We'll own his rights so long as he continues to play professional basketball. In the unlikely event that Yi stops playing for his professional CBA team next season in hopes of re-entering the draft next season, he STILL will have no assurances that he won't be drafted by a small market team again next season....if injuries to key players re-occur, the Bucks will be their again. If I were Harris, I'd take him AGAIN!
They might hold the aces, but Yi could hold their success ultimately.. Putting in maximum effort, and playing his ass off might not come with Yi.. Clearly the Bucks have a problem child on their hands... Bottom line is, him/his people or whatever it is, they/he don't want that guy in a Bucks uniform... So whether it's they move him now, or he plays half assed in the common american tatic to force a trade, I think the marriage between Yi and the Bucks will be short or very bumpy... IMO, Bucks fans only hope (and the only card they can play) is that Yi comes there, and just warms up to the place... I don't see it...TJ_4_CV31 said:So really, Yi's handlers will huff and puff and try and force a trade to a large market with a relatively large Chinese population (not Cleveland), but the Bucks management has already stated that they will not buckle and YI will be a Buck. The Bucks realize that they hold 3 Aces against a pair of dueces (dunces rather...Fegan/Nike) and will remain steadfast and unmovable in their commitment to bringing Yi into Milwaukee.
