He just clearly said that he still likes LeBron as a player but the Cavs are still his favourite team. I am in the same boat for the most part. I hate the way he left, I may never get over that but I am over him leaving my favourite team and he is still a fantastic player.

It's positions that people take like his, and yours apparently, that is so infuriating on a board like this. He spit in our collective faces both on the court and off it, in an epic fashion never before seen by a player of his caliber. The two things are not mutually exclusive, they are tied together. You must be too young to understand what the word respect really means then. If you say you lost respect but in the same sentence he's your favorite athlete, ... that does not compute. I respect most of the Pro NBA players but don't actually like most of them. A couple I respect and really like are Rose and Durant. I can honestly say I loath James and he's my least respected Pro Athlete in ALL sports.

Im 18 years old and i live on the completely different side of Akron in Coventry Twp. But the first time i seen him play when he came to our school to play our team, I was 8 years old and was amazed and what he did on the court. Ever since i followed him on the newspapers and on TV during the four years he played at St. V and when he got drafted by Cleveland i was glad he was on the Cavs my favorite NBA team. Last July, i was like every one hoping he'd stay in Cleveland. When he announced he was heading to South Beach, i was pissed like everyone else. But after thinking about i realized hey he gave us 7 years of his career and had the chance to team up with all-stars and win titles with D-Wade and Bosh. Yeah, he quit on us but there must have been some obvious reason to him quitting whether it was the team siding with Mike Brown or Delonte banging his mommy. He did it and we all need to move on from his decision. He apologized the other night to Cleveland and you should consider accepting his apology. Modell never apologized for moving the team which was worse than what Lebron did

These are not the oh I hope LeBron wins a championship type of things, these are the types of things that I have wished career ending injuries and death upon him. While I have cooled off of those wishes now I am hardly a fan of his. I enjoy watching him play basketball in the same way that I enjoy watching Kobe play basketball. I don't in particular like either, but they are fantastic players.

Edit: And if you do not want to hear about it then why respond to this thread, why do you guys keep posting articles about him, etc. I don't ever bring LeBron up on this forum, I don't think I have ever made a single LeBron thread in my RCF career.

The problem is that the initial poster tried to say something was a fact when it obviously wasn't. And I'm going to call him out on it. This has nothing to do with respect, I felt disrespected by saying that I would give up my fanship so quickly just because a guy came back to win a title. I am not a whore, and my fanship cannot be sold like I was one. It does not work like that, not when I was disrespected and not given dignity by LeBron when on live TV and told every single Cavalier fan that he was too good for them. He said that he was bigger than Cleveland and bigger than the team. You can still hear that in his voice and the way he talks to people and how he didn't believe he could "do it by himself."

He's a liar, a quitter, and a scum bag. And if you defend him while still claiming to be a Cavaliers fan, and then tell me that I'm going to be a LeBron fan if he came back here is insulting to me.

Don't think just because you are older you can sit on your high horse and pretend to be better than me and point out my flaws.

Im not a Miami Heat fan to clairfy, im a Lebron James fan. Im also a Cleveland Cavaliers fan. I was Lebron James fan before he was even drafted. So you cant judge me for who the athletes i like. Just because he quit and walked out on the team you guys are gonna hate. Belle, Manny, Thome, Boozer, etc. all walked out on their respective Cleveland teams for money and you still take Lebron as the most hated person in Cleveland.

Boozer is the only guy in that perspective list that you can really legitimately make a case on and Cleveland fans hate him too for the way he left. I don't know why you think we don't hate that guy though, fuck Boozer he's a douche bag too. Swindling a blind man like that.

The fact that he did it should really turn you off on him. Whatever his reason for quitting was, it will never be acceptable. Under no circumstances can a professional athlete give up or 'throw' a game. What he did speaks to his character not his basketball ability. How anyone can be behind this guy is beyond me.

I'm sorry the guy gets paid millions of dollars to play a sport. You get paid to play the game, not quit. He's a professional athlete and what he did was unprofessional. I'm disappointed... no I'm pissed that this clown could give a damn about the city he grew up in, the fans that game him those 7 years, the organization that took the chance on drafting him, the organization that bent over backwards for him, and most of all he faked an injury. Took his ball and went home and quit.

Being mad at your coach isn't a reason to quit. Not for a 25 year old professional athlete.

Delonte and him hugged it out on the floor, so I'm not sure that ever happened.
