Re: Cavs Media Day
Erm, in case you forgot I'll point it out to you. It's exactly what you were implying.
You're implying that Ehlo's mind and body had slowed down because he was drinking.
What is this politics? Either you don't read well or just plain don't want to understand. I raised a question to provoke thought about alcohol, it's affect on the body, and some possible consequences on a basketball court. IF means IF. I am not implying he was drunk that day or the night before. WITHOUT alcohol, if he were a smidgen quicker, or a little sharper, would the shot have got in? Answer yourself that first.. The answer may be yes, because it could be a bad example..
But the POINT that you're missing is that the game is so dependent on so many close things.. NEAR blocks, NEAR steals, things where a fraction of a second matters. A block with just a fingernail on a jump shot. They add up over time and can affect a game. If the option exists to be a little bit sharper, quicker, healthier, and smarter on the court, why not take that option?
Could it not conceivably make a difference in even one close basketball game?
I'm all for bonding and everything, and I love the comments about these guys monitoring each other and taking care of each other by hanging out together in groups. Maybe you can count on these guys to figure out who's driving and all that. But they're 20 years old for craps sake. Let's not make it seem like beers after practice is a good idea. We need these guys healthy. If the character talk about these guys is correct, this is likely a wasted conversation.
But please don't play the hyperbole game with me. You bolded a sentence that was explained not to be meant the way your interpreted it in the sentence that preceded it.
If you guys could get another run of that Jordan play against Ehlo, you know you'd want to give it one more try, hoping he could get a fingernail on the ball. Not saying alcohol played a part in this, but speed, sharpness, and athleticism did. All things that are affected negatively by alcohol.
Clearer now?
