2017 MLB Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I guess the Braves are going all-in to try and be at least an average team during their first year in a new stadium.

Sale would slot in nicely behind their new ace, Bartolo Colon.

I remember this loser team that once tried to get back to respectability by splurging in FA on a 40 year old 'ace', a 36 year old no. 2, and a 38 year old DH to compliment their roster of young sluggers. Pretty sure it failed miserably.

If only the Braves had a roster of young sluggers

The Braves with Chris Sale, Julio Teheran, Mike Foltynewicz, RA Dickey and Bartolo make up maybe the best rotation in that division. Great young depth too, they're looking at the Indians model.

Need to find a catcher, maybe another power hitter with the prospects they have.

But they might not be far away.

Read rumors about the Dodgers talking to White Sox, Sale and Frazier for top prospects. In the verrrrrrry early stages but figure I'd put this in here.

Interesting...but lets keep this thread strictly for the rest of the MLB, not the Indians...
That's right, I forgot that the Indians are not part of the MLB, just the AL Champions. Matt Holiday could end up anywhere so I thinks it fits. Keep on keepin on Bimbo...

Today's moves:

Astros signed Charlie Morton for 2 years, 14 million guaranteed...2 years 20 million if you include incentives. Once again, the starters pool is absurdly bad this winter. A 33 year old who pitched all of 17 innings last year just got 14 million guaranteed from a team.

Today's rumors:

Dodgers have asked the Tigers about Ian Kinsler and Twins about Brian Dozier...Kinsler won't waive his no-trade unless he is given an extension by the team acquiring him. Al Central appears to be the go to division for trades this winter, which isn't surprising considering the state of a few of the teams farms.

Twins seem to be the likely landing spot for Jason Castro.

The market for Derek Holland appears to be the Yankees, Padres, Pirates, and a return to the Rangers.

Brilliant stuff.

The BBWAA never ceases to amaze in their curmudgeonly ways.

How in the world can 2 people paid to cover the sport completely leave him off of their ballots?

Can't wait for the changing of the guard...

Also...sounds like the active roster size may go from 25 to 26 when the new CBA is introduced next month.
