23-24 Trade Deadline: What Can Koby Cook Up? (Kitchen Is Closed)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No adjustments necessary if you have a 30 point lead. What if somebody plays bad and you’re behind or close? That’s the part I haven’t seen game time adjustments in the past.
I mean with 16 wins in the past 17 there isn't much need for adjustments. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Obviously when there are bumps in the road, we'll have to see how he reacts.

Exactly.

Look, I like Wade. Even with his coach always over praising him a touch too much on here.

But would you rather Wade get 10-15 minutes on a team that's near the top in the East, or 25-30 minutes on a dogshit team?

He's blessed to be on a very good team and I for one am thankful for the positive impact he provides when he is on the floor....... whether that be 5 minutes or 20.

The rotation sure seems to be working quite well if we've won 16 of 17.

To be fair, Wade had more than 20 minutes of playing time in 11 of those 17 games and they did not look like dogshit. There is a legitimate argument to be had that because Wade has positional versatility (SP/PF/C) he can leech some Strus & Niang minutes & backup 5 minutes to get closer to 20 mpg as opposed to the ~13 he has been getting in games with Mobley.

There is no evidence that I have seen where there is any correlation between Wade getting higher minutes and the team playing worse. He is +155 +/- over that 17-game stretch.

I think the Cavs may have moved in a direction other than Niang in the offseason if Dean had been healthy last season and playing as well as he is playing now. But Dean was looking pretty bad -- and again, I believed at that time it was an injury issue -- and the Cavs desperately needed more outside shooting in the frontcourt. So without knowing exactly what Dean would be like this season, they were more or less compelled to find an alternative and give him minutes.

Q…. Assuming that was the feeling of the Cavs, why did the Cavs not go ahead and trade Dean to Miami last year in the summer or just a few days ago to Phoenix?

My Brother you keep dodging the question, who’s is better then Jones/ Thompson we could have got, none of us have the access of a GM, but it don’t stop us from playing GM ( haha) I sure the Sixers need help way more then we do and they couldn’t pull a trade off for a backup center
Robin Lopez
Steven Adams

The Cavs had the assets to get these guys.

I think Furkan is a more interesting name...you know because it sounds like fuckin.
I need to know his middle name. Korkmaz Furkan. I need to know what he needs to have corked.

Cork my's fucking....what? What needs corking?!?!?

If basketball is putting food on my table, I am going 25-30 minutes on a dogshit team unless I am certain the team I am on is getting to the finals with a shot at winning it. That's not us yet.

Man, I was happy and thought of you when Dean hit those 3 first quarter 3's, then pissed when JBB took the hot shooter off the floor. If that's Merrill, he stays on the court. Not sure on that decision...

To your question, if there were teams pursuing Dean, I would bet they were trying to buy low. Dean is on a great contact for what he brings, and that is not easy to part with (see, Jarrett Allen). I fully believe the team knows what we have, his year last year was a lost one due to multiple lingering injuries, and they weren't about to give that away for peanuts.

His defense is no surprise to the team. I bet, through practice, we knew Dean had that dawg in him, and that is a missing component in JBBs bag. We also know, more than anyone, that he has a sweet stroke. So, why trade the 2 things away that we covet (3 & D) for peanuts?

Look, last year was a down year, and we all know that. Not one player on this team is above criticism. Dean took a ton last year, yet you remained confident in his abilities. I believe the staff did as well, even though you may believe otherwise.

Robin Lopez sucks you know this right? He also just got traded and bought out. If we truly want him, we can acquire him without a single asset.

Steven Adams is out this ENTIRE season, you know that right?

Apparantly after that tirade, your mouth needs corcking

That has certainly happened. He did it with CPJ a few times. Damian Jones, Niang, TT.

The starter minutes are mostly fixed, but JBB has absolutely adjusted 2nd half bench minutes based on who's performing well.

In terms of last summer, we'd just signed him to a longer term deal before he got hurt, and they wanted to see/hoped he could come back.

This deadline, I think Koby actually likes Dean quite a lot, and didn't plan on giving him away for the peanuts that likely were being offered.

I don't understand why the organization would be interested in trading Dean at all. He's on a bargain contract, and certainly worth more on our team both presently and in the future than the return we would get sending him out.

I'd much sooner ship out guys like Niang or Levert to improve the team before I'd trade Wade. Pretty confident our front office feels the same way.
