23-24 Trade Deadline: What Can Koby Cook Up? (Kitchen Is Closed)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That deal actually kind of makes sense, for both teams. We'd clearly instantly become the favorites to get out of the East.

I do think in this scenario Strus starts at the 2. I'd probably prefer giving them Merrill or CPJ (their choice) instead of Okoro. We'd need more size.
I thought about that, but we’d need more shooting too. Merrill running around, with DM on point taking load of Lebron, you might not even need to use Porter that much of REAVES and Merrill could bring the ball up paired with LEBRON. I know it’s not a fantasy thread, but hearing the Lebron rumors, got me thinking that could work for both teams.

I can’t really imagine DG netting us any player with size that would be a Championship level move otherwise.

If the Cavs valued OKORO more, I’d send Struss out Instead. Just thinking Struss does the movement like Merrill does where OKORO has to be standstill wide open. I think either one would be better suited coming in for that 6/7 man role.

Per Nets Daily, recent trade talks around the league on Royce O'Neale have involved a pair of second round picks and some salary filler. The Suns have offered a pair of second round picks and Nasir Little. If the Cavs want to, they can match that offer

Do you think the Bucks have a chance to get Joe Barry Carroll?

If you want an all time 2 time Wooden Award winnning center from Purdue...my alma matter...you can draft one probably in the 2nd this year.

What players would you give up to match that salary…….

That was a true "geezer alert" quip. Anyone who remembers Pete Franklin in the 80's might recall the "Buck fan" who constantly called Pete, pestering him about Carroll to the point of annoyance.

I REALLY hope they don't want to, cause the player(s) required to match salary are bwtter than RON.

I am on a Purdue message board and Rick Mount and Joe Barry Carroll are brought up allot because Edey is about to break their records (Glenn Robinson too)

I was just excited to see JBC's name brought up here, lol

I just hope you're saving your best stuff for here.

Lee's cheating on us.

What exactly does he add to this team though? Every minute you are playing him, you are not playing Strus/LeVert -- and I feel like they are both better? Niang/Okoro is at least a wash too.

Currently we have Strus/LeVert/Niang/Okoro/Merrill. In the playoffs, they will combine to play about 20 minutes at the 2, and then 48 minutes at the 3. Can't imagine we are playing more than 3 of those guys to take those minutes. If we're adding a SF, they better be a clear upgrade to all of them.

Define best stuff? I dont post their a ton, they dont appreciate my humor or knowledge, i just take some info from them, lol

The minute we got Strus, wings like Royce became pointless.

We need a C/PF tweener with size that can stretch the floor, rebound, and move their feet on defense. A guy similar to what Channing Frye was to us.

iMobley is far younger, but I've always said Frye is who he should model his game after. The same size. Similar skillset.

this is such a boring trade deadline. We have somehow gone from last years shallow team with holes everywhere to this years deep team where, outside of the perennial SF hole, our big issue is exploring and developing the talent we already have on the roster and figuring out how they fit together. I find myself extremely uninterested in any trade which cuts into playing time for CRAIG! or Merrill or reduces the number of possessions where Mobley can experiment with his inner stretch four on offense. I mean, think about it. Are you really more excited by seeing DFS try to fit in than by seeing Mobley or Porter or even Okoro develop further?

It would still be nice to find that solid 3 big man. Still feels like we are an Allen or Mobley injury away from throwing away the season.
