Cavs Summer League Team

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think James Banks III was Jarrett Allens backup at Texas. Hands was a top recruit coming out of HS. Whole lot of meh outside of Mobley, Okoro, Stevens and Kabengele.
Vaudrin will be fun.

The dude from Turkey played on Sengun's team. They probably noticed them while scouting Sengun.

Jaylen Hands was a talented dude.

Not sure if he shows anything, I mean Detroit just waived him.

But I remember that name.

For what it's worth I'm not sure how much Detroit actually saw of Hands. His draft rights were traded to Pistons. But he had signed with a Euro team then he got cut. Technically he's still under contract with his Euro team I believe. Signed a 2 year deal in January.

No Wade. Interesting. I know most of you do not like/appreciate Wade, but do the research and compare his numbers with Cam Johnson from the Suns. I think you will be surprised.

Why would he be on a Summer League roster when he's about to win NBA MVP in a few months?

Jaylen Hands' most noticeable moment since HS is actually a pretty popular meme/gif. He's the guy that "raised" Moses Brown's chin when he was upset after a tough play. Seems like a good teammate, if nothing else.

I have been lurking here for several months, so I understand your "joke". As I was watching the NBA playoffs, I was just impressed with the play of Cam Johnson. Out of curiosity, I decided to check his stats to see how Dean compared. I was pretty surprised at what I found. Now are they the same player? No. But they do play the same roles/positions, and they both do it pretty well. Dean could fill a huge role on this team. And as the team improves going forward, that could be a very important role.

Me too. Hands is talented & athletic. He was a 2nd round pick in the 2019 draft.

Wade plays the same position as Mobley who should get the brunt of the pf/c minutes in SL along with Kabengele.
Wade is not a developmental player either so there is that. He is a lock to remain on the depth chart unless someone offers a gold mine for his services. The Cavs will need is shooting on the 2nd unit no reason to risk injury playing with rookies and kids trying to get a 2 way contract.

Fedor said Mobley and Okoro might only play a couple of Summer League games. The only way to get better as a player is to play so why not play the whole slate of games? That makes no sense.

At its core, the Summer League is geared toward figuring out what guys are worth inviting to camp and perhaps signings to two way deals rather than seeing how much better Okoro is against shittier competition.

I mean it is not like most of the SL roster is playing for a contract for the Cavs anyway. Some will probably be in Training camp and released.
The Local kid has a shot to get the 2 way deal though. A 6'7" PG that can shoot and play a little defense is always getting a chance on this roster.
One player I am interested about is Devidas Sirvydis who was released by Detroit but agreed to play there in SL anyway in the hopes to getting picked up elsewhere. The Cavs could take a flyer on the SF imo he fits the development timeline as a 2-way.
Sirvydas before he got to the league: just think spacing lol
