Think this is an ignorant take. Obviously it’s recurring, serious, and possibly permanent physical issues that are affecting his mental state. Clearly it’s serious enough that would make him question whether he even wants to play again. It’s not an unreasonable thought to have.So mentally soft.

Well, the Cavs only gave him the minimum for a year, put him on a minutes restriction, and have played other guys over him in winning time (as they should because they've been bad with him on the floor).
I'd hardly say the Cavs were super committed to him in the first place.
I think the minute restriction was a clear commitment to his long term health and wanting to get him to that point. They handed him the starting job every time he was healthy to play as well. Sure, they had him on the bench at the end of some close games, but that hardly screams non-committal to me. I think the Cavs were very interested in helping him rehab his career.
