Even more of a reason he shouldn’t have put Watson on it. He shouldn’t get a year of paid suspension credit for a year he was never playing in anyway. Nonsense.

If the NFL wanted to make this look like they were taking it seriously, they would have placed him on the Exempt List, no?

Instead you are saying that the NFL didn't want to put him on the Exempt List because they were sure he was guilty but wanted to make a more serious punishment later? I don't know about that. I mean maybe, but that's kind of strange.

Seems like not putting him on the Exempt List sort of gives the impression that they were not sure if he needs to get suspended yet.

Exempt list details are here: https://nflcommunications.com/Documents/2018 Policies/2018 Personal Conduct Policy.pdf

Is it possible the NFL tacks on 2 games or no games and just fines him 10 million and donates it to women initiatives since his contract of only having 1 million in base pay kind of gets around the loss of game checks?

Yeah, self-sabotaging landmines like this are all over how the NFL handled this. They're delusional at this point and I hope they get smacked down in both court and the next CBA negotiations.

No chance they’re going for two games. They don’t want him to play in the NFL ever again.

Yeah, I don't see that happening lol

Get excited gents. Watson is starting the season and we are going 6-0!

Not sure that is true. The 6 game suspension is now the minimum, so while i am 100% sure this ends in federal court, they both might agree to get an emergency decision that ends before the 6 games is up, allowing Watson to start his suspension.

Both sides would have reason to start the suspension with the first game, one both sides want this done as quick as possible to get past it, but Watson wants to serve it this year when his pay is only 1 million. thus the lost pay being less.

We will see, but NFL comes back with 1 year, NFLPA and Watson sue under unfair labor practices and it goes to court and the federal court decides.

Man this process they came up with is ridiculous. All because Goodell has a huge track record of inconsistency and not coming down on violent or sex crimes, especially against owners. And that will matter in court, it wont when NFL appeals to Goodell, who will give him a year, but in federal court it will be less than a year. Go back to my original guess of 8 games.

Fair and equitable treatment is the NFLPA's best shot. What is the Texans punishment for aiding Watson with all of these treatments. How much did they know? When did they know? They obviously were at risk since they settled pretty quickly. I know we have quite a few called experts in here, but I do not think this is a guaranteed NFL win if they're seeking a full year or more.

Frankly this opens up pandoras box big time. Discovery could be real juicy if the NFLPA wants it to be that way with some of these owners.

I dont see how, Goodell has the word on the suspension, 1 year is my guess. And it says final word in the CBA, but the NFLPA already said they are taking it to federal court.

This right here

So if this goes to court he could file a temporary restraining order against the league and start the season right?

I don't think it is. This appeal nullifies the entire skeletal framework Robinson tried laying out in her decision imo. They are back to Goodell's whims as judge, jury, and executioner.
