Elton Brand?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That was my point.....is shoulder just a temporary thing or more serious. bad contract, bad shoulder..............CAVs just need to stay away. In fact, I doubt CAVs have any interest at all.

Brand done for season

just saw it on espn.com/nba no article yet

EDIT:
Here's the article:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3887072

Elton Brand's first season in Philadelphia is coming to an abrupt ending.

Brand
Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com on Thursday afternoon that Brand will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery Monday after a failed attempt to play through the injury.
The Sixers' marquee summer signing has averaged a mere 5.7 points and 4.7 boards in less than 20 minutes per game in his six outings since sitting out 16 games after dislocating his shoulder in a home game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Dec. 17. The former All-Star, who turns 30 on March 11, managed only eight minutes in Tuesday's one-point loss to the Boston Celtics, sitting out the entire second half.
After an Achilles injury that limited him to eight games last season with the Clippers, Brand signed a five-year deal worth nearly $80 million with Philadelphia in July to end his six-season stay in Los Angeles.

Well, guess we can lock this one up.

Never wanted him anyways...

I knew he wasn't right, and quite a few people were ready to trade for him if we had the chance..

I'm starting to think maybe we should just stand pat, as much as I hate to say that.

Right now, not sure what will be available that I'd really want. If we can get Camby, I would, but I don't know what else there is out there that really helps us.

Eh, oh well, we still aren't bad at all. Let's just hope we stay healthy.

A week ago, we needed to include JJ Hickson or first-round draft picks to make a play for Elton Brand.

Today, we could probably snag Elton Brand and convince Philadelphia to include a couple of first-round draft picks.

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no

Got Grave digging? lol

Should have made a new thread

He is too injury prone, too big of a contract, don't want him

Hmm....i'd be interested, if the doctors go through things carefully and decide that his injuries are fully healed. Also, we'd need to get a little bit more in the deal, because we'd be taking on a huge contract. Unfortunately I don't know what the other thing would be (it would be great if they had the big wing we need, but they really don't)

So the best I can think of is Brand + 17th for Wallace.

I'd have to consider that, because Brand is much better than Jamison when he's healthy, and though the 17th pick isn't near as much, we might be able to trade up with it to get Tyreke Evans, Derozen, or a similar player that slips.

On the other hand, you'd need full assurances that he was completely healthy from the doctors. I also worry a bit about the undersized PF on the wrong side of 30 trend.

Hmm, this is tough. I guess there are probably better deals out there.

No reason to really make a new thread, nothing has changed with him..

I think Brand can still play. He recently turned 30 and should have some good years left in him. It's a little bothersome though that he hasn't played a full season in two years now. Is this a sign that his body is breaking down or has he just hit a streak of bad luck? I think the development of Marreese Speights is what is making Brand expendable.

I would be interested in Brand for expirings, although I would be sure to give him a really thorough physical.
