Additional data on Williams:
SportVU - Drives
6.0 Drives per 36 at 1.03 PPP
That's a really solid number given the frequency. Anything over 1 at a high frequency is a plus player and for a bench guy? Even better.
SportVU - Ball Screen Action - (This is where it gets good)
LeBron - 1100 screens, 48% FG, .93 PPP, 1.19 TPPP
Williams - 1100 screens, 47% FG, .85 PPP, 1.07 TPPP
Kyrie - 1300 screens, 42% FG, .84 PPP, 1.10 TPPP
Think about that. We may add a guy, for free, that is as effective as Kyrie in ball screen situations.
SportVU - Isolation Defense
Shumpert - 26% FG, .64 PPI, .81 TPPI
Williams - 32.7% FG, .72 PPI, .88 TPPI
Smith - 40% FG, .75 PPI, .90 TPPI
Again, really solid numbers. That's in the area of what Shump and JR give us in isolation situations and makes him a really solid pairing with Kyrie if we want to slot KI off the ball as a SG.
SportVU - On Ball Defense
Williams - 505 screens, 0.78 PPP, 1.05 TPPP, 41.4% FG
Shumpert - 593 screens, 0.86 PPP, 1.07 TPPP, 45.9% FG
Williams is a much better player than people think. I would be ecstatic if he ends up here. He's an upgrade from last year at the backup position and is a guy that will play in every playoff series. Getting that type of guy for free would be incredible.
