Kidd Wants To Be A Cav Next Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What I like about Kidd is that he's a guy who can find anyone on the court, he's got amazing passing ability. He knows how to take advantage of Shaq or LeBron either drawing the double team...

It could just be me, but I feel like Kidd would never draw a double team with Lebron and Shaq on the floor..

MO is a starter dude. Kidd at the point Mo at the 2.

Would be pretty sweet, but I feel like one of em would like to come off the bench cause they would be the main man/2nd man (when Lebron was still on the floor) and to me, would Easily be the 6th man of the year.

Could easily be me though, not that great/savvy in basketball ethics.

He'd be open for a 3 ball....which he's been hitting last year

Kidd has now become a proficient 3 pt shooter, especially with his feet set on the weak side. He can also put the ball on the floor and take advantage of any rotating defense.

With shaq and lebron and kidd you would have 3 of the best passers at their respective positions. I think lebrons stats might take a nose dive this year.

I also feel then Mo or Boobie (if on the floor at the same time) would be more open that him for the 3-ball and Kidd would look to pass more than to shoot.

Like I said though, could completely be wrong, its almost 5a.m. and pretty tired. I would just really love him on the team.

I still agree about that. I feel getting Shaq and Kidd this season could be detrimental to LeBrons development. First off we could finally have a player LeBron respects enough to push him off of the ball. Shaq is a player that can push LeBron in a similar sense because of the respect that LeBron has for him. Shaq will force LeBron to work on his jumper, and it will also help him give up the ball more.

Lebron is so smart that he will learn everything he can from these guys. He is gonna learn real toughness from Shaq. People may not realize what Ben Wallace did to help Lebrons defensive game.

A guy like Lebron doesn't let his development stop. If he is teammates with future hall of famers he is going to soak up their confidence and their skills like a sponge.

Jason Kidd showed in the Denver playoff series that he can play at a really high level. Moving Mo to the SG spot would probably help Mo's game a lot too. Also, if Orlando doesn't re-sign Hedo, then that Orlando team is not nearly going to be as much of a matchup nightmare. VC is more of a traditional SG and I think Delonte or JKidd could probably keep him in control. Plus, Shaq will be able to body up Howard pretty well and hopefully that limit some of the double teaming on Howard that got us into so much trouble. Further, if we can bring in Sheed or Villanueva, our ability to guard Rashard Lewis should theoretically improve.

I really think that the only way that Kidd ends up here is if he buys into going for the title and agrees to sign for the BAE. With the rumors that CV31 won't get a QO from the Bucks, he might just be willing to join the Cavs for the MLE w/ the hints he keeps dropping on Twitter.

C - Shaq/Z
PF - Villanueva/AV/JJ/DJ
SF - LBJ/Green
SG - Mo/Boobie
PG - Kidd/Delonte

In a dream offseason, a lineup like that would provide us with a ton of offensive firepower...and defense is Mike Brown's specialty, so I'm sure he could turn that lineup into a proficient/above average defensive unit.

This team with Kidd would really remind me of the Lakers team a few years ago when they brought in Malone and Payton to play with Shaq and Kobe.

You misread my post. I was referring to LeBron or Shaq drawing the double team, not Kidd. He can find the open man naturally and set players up for easy shots...

Kidd's coming man, Shaq and LeBron will be on his phone all summer. NO WAY he turns them down.

Ummmm -- he does have a family. And if the Mavs offer him a shit ton more money, he will be staying with them. Championships are only worth so much -- millions of dollars for your family is worth much more.

Besides -- I'm still not sure he's a priority depending on what we do about a SG. If we can move Delonte to the bench to run our second unit. That's a MUCH better option than an aging Kidd.

He's 36 and has never won a championship. He's made over $150 million in his career. It's not a stretch to think he's going to try for a ring.

Agree...Im not sure he is all about money...He been in this leauqe for so long n should have so much money...Besides,what type of money is DAL offering at this point of his career?

Very true, but you're talking about a guy who made over $20 million last year. That's a pretty steep paycut we'd be asking him to make no matter how you slice it.

Sure he's made that much -- but you have no clue how much he's spent. I've seen his house on Cribs -- it's not like he's being frugal. And if he's like most Americans (and NBA players for that matter), he's spent a LARGE portion of what he makes. Rings and memories are great, but they don't pay the bills 15 years from now.

Besides, we don't need him if Delonte gets moved to the bench.
