Does anyone seriously think Billups was going to step into the front office in his first week and have any serious impact on decisions they've been working on since the playoffs ended or before that?
Whatever CB decides, he was never going to have an impact on the draft nor the FA signing period.
And, if Griffin had serious differences of vision from the owner, AND if Griffin has been going around the league trashing DG behind his back, AND he wanted a significant raise and increased power? Then there's no way he should still be here and calling any shots.
The only screw-up I see here is in the expiration date on Griffin's contract. If I were an owner I'd have the GM's contract expire like in September or so when none of this stuff was going on.
