Let it all out: Guardians Edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Does Rcristal ever acknowledge Rosario when he's awful, or does he wait for a few blind hits
RCristal likes Rosario. Nothing wrong with that. To suggest he should be blocking our outstanding MIF prospects with 1 yr remaining on his contract is preposterous though. Suggesting Amed is going to get a 9 figure deal is laughable, but that wasn't RCristal.

He’s constantly spoiling Kwan stolen bases. I remember Manning saying something like “well that’s just who he is” in regards to that. How about we just don’t hit someone shitty like that in the 2 hole.

Manning can fuck off too. He loves Amed because he was the same shitty style of player in his days.

Yesterday, Amed caught a foul ball in foul territory with Ramirez nearby. Their high five/slap was gif worthy (DC, make it a gif, please) and in one picture encapsulates the Rosario "problem". You could see from that moment alone how close they are.

That said, fuck Amed Rosario

I don't really have much to rant about with regards to this team, but that's also because my overall expectations are hell of a lot lower than a lot of yours. For starters, I felt and continue to feel that last year was a bit of a fluke and that this team is far closer to a 500 ball club than they are to a 92 win team. So while this start has been disappointing, I don't exactly see it as the end of the world nor do I see it as something that requires some sort of blow up; a team built around speed, young developing players, and a bit of a piecemeal rotation is going to struggle at times. Right now all three of this team's weaknesses are hitting at the same time, that's not going to continue all year so I'm not about to freak out about it now. As for the bigger issues with the team, I know those things aren't going to change anytime soon (ownership being cheap, the fo treating the players like they are only commodities, miles straw) so I'm not about to get bent out of shape about them.

This thread was mostly to rant like the Cavs and Browns when the team is playing shitty.

I guess here will be my rant material: if you need to reason to see why this is not only a terrible baseball town, look no further than the outright hatred for Amed Rosario. All the guy does is bust his ass and he gets treated like he's the guy who owns the overpriced parking lots. I'm not one of his stans and I fully get why he isn't the future, and he has some obvious flaws, but I don't see how any.of those would make a fan hate him. Hes in a slump right now, but he's shown 2 years of being a 280 hitter; which in this current era is pretty decent. He absolutely busts his ass, which in a former blue collar town you think would endear him to fans but it doesn't (This isn't a blue collar town anymore, just poor, and baseball in America isnt blue collar anymore itself but that's me disgressing). He's not a good defender but he also isn't putrid; he's just meh. He is fantastic baserunner, gets every extra base. Again, I get why he isn't the future and needs to be dealt here, but hating him? It's baffling. Hating him because he's been in a slump? At least he counters his slumps with crazy hot streaks where he piles up multihit games. One poster on the Internets irrational love for him doesn't justify it either, so spare me that bullshit too. I just don't get it. No, hes not ideal, but neither is most of this lineup. Why he gets so much heat when he is at least useful mystifies me. All that hate should only be directed at one Myles Straw, who actually does deserve it as possible the worst offensive regular since the Dead Ball era.

I mean I don’t hate the guy and don’t wish anything bad on him. I just think his valleys are fucking awful.

Being a .280 hitter when you don’t draw walks, have minimal power, and play bad defense is not a valuable player.

Straw and Kwan have the same issues, but at least they both provide gold glove defense in left and center.

I think I'm the most vocal anti-Amed person here, rcristal's #1 enemy and I worry that he's radio silent on RCF because he's creeping through my tall, uncut grass waiting for the moment to strike and slit my throat Rambo style.

I still don't hate Amed.

I think the fuck Amed Rosario all my homies hate Amed Rosario meme is funny.

I wish he wasn't on this team, blocking our young talent while at the same time playing incredibly poorly.

I don't think he's going to stay this shitty for the rest of the year. He should bounce back.

But, the ONLY positive he brings to the club is "Well, isn't he the win-now option?" and he's been the antithesis of that so far this year.

mock draft picks.. yes..

proposed trades..also, yes...

At one point I counted over 40 % of my postings regarding the acquisitions had a catcher as the primary or the add in to complete a deal.. That's over 700 postings over more than a couple years..

It remains the most dire area of concern for this team to contend.. imho

You aren't the only one who has been wanting more catching... Herrera of the Cardinals or Amaya of the Cubs possible to pair with Naylor?

I really think on paper we are better off without Amed... I feel like Freeman could put up 106 OPS+ in the bigs... Also have Rosario off the roster, who barely ever misses a day, creates ABs for Arias and Freeman. I also think Naylor needs to not start against left handed starters and let Arias start there...

I know why and understand why Amed was kept and I doubt he is getting move anytime soon and he will be better as the season goes along. Can we get him out of the two hole at least?

The problems are overwhelming. Tito has a lot of responsibility for the terrible results. He makes the lineups. He makes, or fails to make, in-game decisions that are head scratchers. The front office is responsible for bringing in Zunino to catch, one of the absolutely worst defensive catchers I’ve seen in my life. Karinchak has been brutal, and should never come in with runners on, but Tito trots him out there in those situations far too often. Rosario is a terrible shortstop defensively. He gets hustle hits and does hustle, but he gets himself out a maddeningly percentage of his at bats. Naylor shouldn’t face lefties but often does. Gimenez is lost at the plate but I at least think he’ll come out of it. Plesac is a disaster. Quantrill is disappointing. Straw at least plays great defense, but his hitting is regressing to his norm. We carried 3 catchers but Tito still left Zunino in to catch late in a close game. Zunino couldn’t throw out a runner last night who basically crawled to second base. We can’t hit a homer in bandbox stadiums. I can’t stand this team.

Me too.

What should we do about it? I’ve been trying to come up with solutions every April.
