Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fedor is complicit in it. He has done nothing but kiss JBB's ass and be his mouthpiece for the past two seasons whenever things go wrong.
lol - what?

That is also simply not true. He pretty much has said in a bunch of his podcasts that I have listened to that the front office wants to see what this team can do healthy and all the way through this season. He has brought up the banter of JBB being fired etc...
Koby has also stressed patience (right or wrong) and this is the second season with Don and it went off the rails with injuries...Again the team finished with what 48 wins and it came down to the final game of the season to get the two seed somehow while the starting unit played like 27 games this season, that is it... Vegas had them at 50.5 wins and they punted the last game for rest and health...

What do you want him to do, bash JBB and then be in the locker room, practice facilities with JBB and his staff? lol lol lol - that is a solid way to keep your job. Have you ever listened to one of his podcasts?

Here one quick google search...

“Is coach J.B. Bickerstaff — at the center of this rebirth — a good enough tactician to help the franchise take the next step?” cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor asked in a postgame writeup.

Fedor continued by questioning nearly every aspect of Cleveland’s roster-building, cap management, and personnel decisions:

“Is investing that much in a pair of 7-footers – only to have them get pulverized by a Knicks frontcourt featuring Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle, Obi Toppin and Cleveland castoff Isaiah Hartenstein — the best use of salary cap allocation? Is this an 82-game roster or a 16-gamer? Is building around a pair of guards a sound strategy in today’s wing-dominated NBA? Do the Cavs have the means to find a more reliable fifth starter to complement the Core 4. Is re-signing erratic Caris LeVert the proper use of financial resources?”

The long winter is coming. The Cavs are completely fucked. I’m talking the worst place in the NBA, purgatory for the next decade. Not good enough to contend and no way to hit the lotto til 2031. It’s over.

Come on over to the Guardians forum. The grill is hot, the pool is luke, and we have the best young team and skipper in the game.
I still feel like if this team decides to make 0 moves for the next 3 years besides signing Niang level vets, extending everyone, and using what 2nds we have and fires JBB...we are still going to have a better future and more viewing interest than the Chicago Bulls or Brooklyn Nets. Now those are fucked franchises

This is true lol lol lol

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd be okay with just blowing the entire thing up and stocking up on 10-15 draft picks over the next 5 years. Seems most of the guys on this roster just aren't built mentally for the playoffs.
So you want to completely suck for the next 5 years and then hope we get some kind of luck in the lottery that develops into a star? Why?
LBJ was a miracle and then Cleveland completely lucked out with how we ended up with Kyrie and LBJ wanting to come back home...
This team was also near a two seed this year. It is not wild to think they cannot make a few moves this summer, hire a new coach and be even better next season... This series still is not over... lol

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but is JB’s Dad still in the organization? If that’s the reason, we didn’t fire JB after last season, shame on everyone involved.
bernie bickerstaff has been a senior basketball adviser for the cavs for 10 years, still listed in linked in.

i doubt his role has any impact whatsoever on whether his kid is a coach. it's an advisory position not a decision-maker. he had the role long before jbb was hired. he is 80 now, probably not arguing with gilbert about who should be coach.

I guess you missed the 40 pt and 12 pt wins vs Milwaukee, and the 27 pt win over Orlando? C'mon man get a grip.
3-4 wins against "good" teams (including the 40pt beatdown of Milwaukee without Giannis) out of a 20 game sample during an 18-2 run is surely not enough for you to tell someone to "get a grip".

They largely beat trash/hurt teams and are now getting exposed for not being able to hang with real contenders.

End of story.

Is anyone confident we would beat the pacers?

I’m not. I genuinely think we got the best case scenario for round 1 other than a Butler less Heat

Had this argument with you last night via text.

My answer is YES. Give me 5 shit years (although I don't think it needs to be 5... more like 2-3) and a roll of the dice to become a legit contender over your 50-win mental midget first round exit teams that we're seeing now. I'd do it 10x out of 10.

Cavs don't have much control over their own first round picks for 2025 to 2029, so tanking isn't really an option unless you are a Jazz fan,.

Yes, we split the series with them. The first loss we not a bad L even with Don, DG and JA out and Mobley scored 33 points. The second loss was close and we lost by 5 on the road... I think that was our first game back with everyone... We also beat them at home in a must win for both teams the last week of the season...

He said they had ONE good win. Even in this age of misinformation that wasn't accurate.

Well it’s pretty unlikely we find out this year, but not impossibly, however I’ll say I don’t really put much stock into the regular season results. Like was questioned in that clip you posted above, I think the Cavs have built an 82 game roster rather than a 16 one. The Cavs have given the Magic a ton of open looks. In games 1 and 2 they bricked them. In the last 2, they made them. The Cavs I believe are the only team to not break 100 points this postseason, and it’s not been for lack of looks. I genuinely don’t know how we would keep up with the pacers offense, but hopefully we find out in ECF

ETA: Pels also haven’t scored 100
