I agree it doesn’t let JBB or this team off the hook at all but there were reasons at the time to think it was real
...Except for the fact that JBB has never been able to get these results or better with our most important players healthy.

Examples, pls... and please be sure to correlate those to the playoff team's success (or lack thereof) in a 1.5 postseason series context.
Here your favorite NBA Team.
The Knicks went 16-3 during a stretch lol lol lol in January to Feb 6th and then went like dog shit for the next month... So we are just removing teams hot steaks and what their record was outside of that hot streak? Come on lol lol lol

Being honest: I didn't read the post you replied to. That is my bad!

Still though, does it change the overall point for you? If we tack on 3 more "quality" wins during that 20 game stretch, do they suddenly make the 18-2 run more legit?

Also... if we're going to cherry pick stats, if we remove the 18-2 run (which has been proven to be largely against bad, tanking, or injured teams) the Cavs were 30-32 the rest of the season.

The winter run was fool's gold and @The Oi put it perfectly with @RchfldCavRaised on their pod! -> JBB can drive the Honda Accord wonderfully. Give him keys to the Ferrari and he's wrecking that shit into the nearest median.
I'm not disputing any of what you say. My reason for the response was that I'm tired of people having to exaggerate or misstate facts in order to try to make a point. The truth shall set you free. I'm as pissed off as the next Cavs fan with how this season and playoff series has transpired. I think they might get "back swept". Win first two and then lose 4 straight.

Did you read that article? He asks that question, never answers it, goes on to explicitly blame the players for the failures in the NY series, doesn't discuss how JBB could be better, and then ends with a quote by JBB including saying "you got to put the ball in the basket".
Yeah of course I read it, I shared it with you lol lol lol @Deezus I can read just fine...

The streak was real and it mattered its just people hate the conclusions drawn from it so it gets dismissed.

This team was the best it's been in 2 years without Mobley and Garland.

Because they're better when Mitchell is the full time PG with a better defender next to him and a full time floor spacing wing next to Allen.

They're just better without Garland and Mobley.

This post is intentionally missing the point. The complaint isn't height alone. The complaint is your team's two top offensive options can't be small guards. Our pairing would be fine if we had a Tatum or Butler on the wing or a Giannis or Embiid in the front court.

We don't.

I'd replace "small" with "ball-dominant", but yeah.

You can have a big guard that can take smaller opposition into the post and find other ways to score. We are strictly creating offense from high on the floor with these two. It takes a lot of energy to operate and is probably a big reason why the offense always seems to crater in second halves.

Not to nitpick, but Garland is listed at 6’1” - which makes us tied for the second smallest combined backcourt with Milwaukee. One of Milwaukee’s guards is one of the most ferocious defenders in the last decade and the rest of the team is very tall and long. The only team smaller than us is backed by Embiid and a 6’7” & 6’8” wing. Also worth noting that the teams with the taller backcourt could well go 4-0

Read we have the worst offense in the playoffs statistically, of all 16 remaining teams.

How can we have this level of continuity in the coaching staff, and have an offense this putrid?

I mean, I’m not in love with the talent on the roster, but it’s definitely better than many of the 16 remaining teams. Mitchell is a legitimate top 15 or so player, and even with their ups and downs, Mobley/Garland/Allen are in the top 50 or so players in the league. Levert one of the better 6th men.

The coaching staff is in way over their head…they don’t have a slam dunk poker hand, but they should definitely be winning much more than what they are…

(All this said, and when watching the Mavs today I realized we don’t have one player as good as Kyrie Irving…we long for a player of Lebron’s caliber to come again, and seems like we may not even see someone as good as Kyrie in this next iteration of Cavs basketball…)

Come on over to the Guardians forum. The grill is hot, the pool is luke, and we have the best young team and skipper in the game.
No thanks....been duped by those assholes one too many times. I'd rather condense an entire season into two hours by watching Choke with Sam Rockwell and be done with it.

lol lol lol ha ha ha this made me really laugh hard

I blocked one guy because I couldn't stand looking at that stupid fucking Paul Rudd gif on an endless loop, he's going to have company if you're going to persist with this special ed shtick.

Cleveland so lucked out with this draft as well getting Kyrie from the Clippers in the Baron Davis deal... It was like under 4 percent or some wild number...
