What is feminism and what's to reject about it? I don't remember what they want now.

I won't watch Wonder Woman because IDGAF about superhero movies. Can't get into them.

You can definitely "get into" Wonder Woman if you know what i mean ;) .... Should this thread be in EAYOR ?

Will probably need to relocate this conversation but I like it.

The wife and I took in Baby Driver the other night, and being a fan of everything Edgar Wright has done I knew I was going to enjoy this one.

First off, for those who are fans of Wright movies you'll notice a few of his classic tropes, but also his ability to stage a helluva of an action sequence. Even though Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim were primarily comedy flicks they did have their fun breaks of action. This one isn't very heavy on jokes (although there were a few good one-liners), but the action still remains top notch. A really thrilling car and foot race were highlights here.

Another positive was the incorporation of a stellar soundtrack, and the trick of lining up the beats to a driving sequence or gun shots was fun. I'd argue that the soundtrack used here greatly enhances the overall film, just like a Tarantino flick or even how a Guardians of the Galaxy does. It's has some serious heist action, but I couldn't help but also tap my foot to a lot of the choices here.

That's the best description I can give for the movie: fun. It might have a paper thin plot, and some characters are pretty much stock, but I was entertained. Think Drive without so much doom and gloom, or the...very...sparse...dialogue.

I wouldn't put this in the upper echelon of early Wright movies, or the Mount Rushmore of action movies like Die Hard or The Raid, but well worth the price of a ticket for some quality escapism.

8.5 /10

The Prestige - easy 10/10

Have yet to see a Nolan film I did not absolutely love, and this is probably his masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, I know, I'm 10 years behind somehow. Sue me. Anyway, not sure if anyone else even cares to engage in discussion about a decade old film but I did have one question:

If Angier is cloning himself with every use of Tesla's machine, with the trick he's doing at the end, doesn't that mean he killed himself the very first time and it's his "clones" carrying on day after day? Or is the machine supposed to be transporting the real Angier and creating a clone in his place (which falls in the trap door)? Kind of confusing because if that is the case, it means the real Angier was actually shot by clone Angier the very first time he used the machine.

Hour into prometheus.

Lindelofs movies suck. So did lost.

Prometheus got better.

I criticize Lindelof because the Leftovers was the best writing I've ever seen. It's incredible literally all of the rest is garbage.

I did not like whiplash first viewing. Really like it now.

My favorite movie of all time.

Ultimately I'm not sure there's a perfect answer to the question, other than they are both the "real" Angiers. The clone is an exact replica, including thoughts and memories, or at least that's how I explained it to myself.

At the end of the movie he tells Borden that the sacrifice he made was never knowing if he'd end up being the man in the box or the man in the prestige.

Basically every time he climbed into the machine he could never truly know if his consciousness would be transported to the Prestige or stay with the man who falls into the box.

So maybe it is his "clone" who has continued on, but I don't think it really matters in the end. His clone, if it is his clone, thinks its real, and for all intents and purposes, is the real "Angier." He believes it, he remembers everything, he knows what may happen when he gets into the machine.

The other way to think of it is if it was actually the "real" Angier that killed the clone with the gun at first, that then means he then decided, for the sake of the magic trick, that he would actually kill himself when he performed it live by being the first man in the box. But then the clones carry on in exactly the same manner.

Either way you're left with the same outcome. The Real Angier choosing to kill himself, or a clone that initially killed the real Angier, then choosing to kill himself.

You're right, either way, the original Angier is dead by the end of the first trick. The reason that confuses me is even though they are exact replicas, I assume they are all still a separate consciousness right? So like you said... original Angier is really okay with killing himself and ending his consciousness and letting clones carry on? In essence the Angier that gets shot by Borden at the end isn't even the same individual that wronged Borden, if you think about it. It's an exact clone, but still a different consciousness.

Man, what a mind warp. That's the only thing that I'm really confused on, and maybe I'm not explaining it clearly. Like you said there may not be a perfect answer.

Either way, what a film. Instantly one of my all time favorites as well.

The Prestige

Not realistic 3/10.

Would not watch again.

I rather like Prometheus for the reasons most dislike it. It isn't an Aliens movie, but is a film that explores the deeper mythos of that world. I wish they ran further into the weeds in that respect.

Watched moana 10/10 for a kids film. Rock is on point music is amazing better than frozen. Everyone should see it once

Baby Driver is getting insane hype. GOnna go see it tomorrow.

I thought it was supposed to be some epic movie with a story line.. When it was just an aliens movie, I was shocked. I'm going to watch it again, just wasn't what was expecting. It got good 2/3 in
