The woeful wolves may need a pg to feed beasley and love, but Ramon is not that guy....
Whch is why they gave us a second round pick to take him off their hands about 13 months agoThe woeful wolves may need a pg to feed beasley and love, but Ramon is not that guy....
I think come next Tuesday or Wednesday, if we cant find a 3rd team....Gilbert and Grant will offer Varejao and #4 and if Kahn doesnt take it, we'll stand pat at #1 and #4
If we're trading Varejao, we better keep the #4 pick out of the deal. Otherwise we are getting robbed blind.
Varejao + 4th pick might be too much to give up to move up 2 spots but if Grant, Gilbert and the rest of the front office believes Williams can be a star in the NBA I pull the trigger on that.
I agree with this. My personal opinion is that he won't be a star, and call me crazy, but I wouldn't even be surprised if he was a bust..... But like you said, that is Grant's decision, not mine, and he obviously knows a lot more than any of us do.
If they do see him as a star, they shouldn't let a 29 year old 6th man hold them back from drafting a young potential star to what should be a YOUNG REBUILDING team.
Andy is a very good role player, but you can find another guy like Andy, or at least close to Andy for a lot cheaper. You can't find stars anywhere but the draft. Who knows if/when we will have another chance to draft a star. If they think D-Will is a star. Pull the trigger.
If it's easy to find a guy like Varejao, why would anyone give us anything for him? How many guys in the league right now are "like" Anderson Varejao?
not sure if serious?
that said I will go on the basis that you have never watched a single game of basketball other than the cavs so ill let you know the answer to your question. there is 1 guy like anderson varejao in the league and thats andy himself. because there is pretty much no other hustle big man in the league that can step up and play one on one defense for the 4 and 5 with some 3's play a great team defense and bring so much energy to the game. that said now if you cut back on a couple of those I can think of 1 other guy and thats joakim noah for the bulls. other than that there is almost no one else in the league that can give a team what andy provides. he was a starting 4/great 6th man on a team that finished with the best record in the league 2 years in a row. that pretty much makes him one of the better big men in the league
now answer this question how many players in this draft do you think will have the career that anderson does, because my guess is it will be less than 10, and certainly no more than 15
