Trading Kyrie Irving?

Re: Look at Jackasses Who Said, "Trade Kyrie Irving"

You are posting this after 2 games when KI was missing 3 of his top 6 players.

I've been posting the same thing this entire season. Kyrie's issues are ongoing and the fact that there are players out and he can't step up is even more troubling because teams are always due for an injury bug at some point during the season. Those are the times when he needs to take it to a different level.

I've watched him closely and I hate to say it because I've suffered watching this team the last few years too, but this kid is simply overrated. He is unable to perform at a high level for any significant amount of time on either end of the floor and that's not going to get it done.

Re: Look at Jackasses Who Said, "Trade Kyrie Irving"

If we were willing to give up on Irving, what makes you think we would get even close to equal talent in return? Also, why would any team in the bottom 3 want him? He is about to get a max contract. Plus by trading KI we would be restarting this rebuild for another 3 years.

You're rarely ever going to get equal value when trading a "superstar".

Giannis, Wolters, Embiid, and a 2015 first round pick from Milwaukee is above what they could expect on the market.

Does this organization need to hitch on to Kyrie for the long term as it's max player? That's the question they have to answer.

While I would trade Kyrie for the right package, Milwaukee would never do the deal you proposed.

Just an example. It's possible. You look at what Dwight was traded for...or Harden...or Melo...or CP3.

There's no rhyme or reason to it. Just depends on how badly the two sides want the deal to be done.

Re: Look at Jackasses Who Said, "Trade Kyrie Irving"

I believe it's worth exploring this summer.

Say Milwaukee wins the lottery they would have to listen to an offer for Kyrie.

Milwaukee gets Kyrie Irving and Orlando's second Cleveland gets Giannis, Wolters, Mikwaukee's 2014 and 2015 first.

This package seems insane to me. I'd love to see the posters who would actually turn this down. Even the staunchest Kyrie supporters would have to say yes to this. Assuming both picks are unprotected

Yup, you're only probably getting 3 of those, if you get all 4 you absolutely do it.

Re: Look at Jackasses Who Said, "Trade Kyrie Irving"

Wolters is a throw-away. You could totally remove him from the deal and it wouldn't change how I thought of it.

Because Milwaukee w/o this years pick and Giannis isn't gonna be all that damn good next year even with Kyrie. As you can see with us, they'll still be right there struggling to win 30 games. That 2015 pick has a high probability of being a lottery pick too.

Re: Look at Jackasses Who Said, "Trade Kyrie Irving"

I'd do that.

It would mean you'd have your pick between Embiid or Parker this year. Then in 2015 you'd end up with whatever pick Kyrie could carry a Bucks team to while being surrounded by less talent than the Cavs have. In 2015, you'd also still have whatever Cavs pick a rookie Parker/Embiid, third year Dion and second year Bennett could carry you to. Cavs pick and Bucks pick would likely still be lottery picks.

In addition to that you'd get Giannis, who is a total wild card but seems to have the potential to be a Paul George type of player. Nate Wolters doesn't really matter much, but he'd be an ok back-up PG.

Re: Look at Jackasses Who Said, "Trade Kyrie Irving"

There is absolutely no way Milwaukee would trade this year's first (assuming it's top three) and next year's first too for Kyrie, let alone throw the Alphabet into the deal. You might be able to get this year's first and the Alphabet, but even that seems like a bit of a stretch. I imagine Milwaukee would be more inclined to roll the dice on their top three (again, assumed) pick this year and keep rebuilding through the draft.

And if they would be willing to do that deal, you do it all day every day and twice Sunday. That's a ridiculous value.

They can't trade first round picks in consecutive years anyway, can they?

Re: Look at Jackasses Who Said, "Trade Kyrie Irving"

The trade would go down on draft day, they would trade us the rights to who we wanted. Then they are free to trade their 2015 pick.

Yes, if they traded whoever they drafted with the 2014 pick on draft night after having made the pick.

The other option, which might make this trade more realistic (although not much), would be to offer them either ours or Chicago's 2015 pick (remember, we gave Chicago lottery-protected rights to swap picks with us next year in the Deng trade), whichever is available. Or we could agree to swap 2014 picks with them instead, or something.

Dwight trade:

Orlando got guard Arron Afflalo and forward Al Harrington from Denver and forward Moe Harkless and center Nikola Vucevic from Philadelphia and forward Josh McRoberts and guard Christian Eyenga from the Lakers. The Lakers got Howard, guard Chris Duhon and forward Earl Clark from Orlando. The Magic also traded guard Jason Richardson to Philadelphia.

The Magic also will get a second-round draft pick from Denver next year, a first-round pick from either Denver or New York in 2014, a conditional first-round pick from Philadelphia and a conditional second-round pick from the Lakers in 2015, and a conditional first-round pick from the Lakers in 2017. Orlando also will have a $17.8 million trade exception to use over the next year.

Harden trade:

Along with Harden, the Rockets will receive center Cole Aldrich, outside shooting specialist Daequan Cook and rookie guard/forward Lazar Hayward. The Thunder will receive guard Kevin Martin, rookie guard/No. 12 overall pick Jeremy Lamb and three draft picks.

The picks the Thunder pickup are a 2013 protected first-round pick from the Toronto Raptors, a protected 2013 first round pick from the Dallas Mavericks, and a 2013 second-round pick from the Charlotte Bobcats. Houston acquired the Raptors' pick in the Kyle Lowry trade, the Mavericks' pick from the Lakers in the Derek Fisher deal, and the Raptors' pick in the Courtney Lee trade.

CP3 Trade:

The Clippers will send guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets for Paul. The Clippers will also receive two future second-round picks.

Melo Trade:

the Knicks will send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Nuggets, who would get additional picks and cash, the sources said. Along with Anthony, New York would get Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman from Denver.

Multiple media reports say that the additional picks the Nuggets will get are two second-round selections that the Knicks acquired from Golden State when the Warriors signed forward David Lee last summer.

The Minnesota Timberwolves got involved to help New York clear salary-cap space to accommodate its new players. The Knicks ship Anthony Randolph, the expiring contract of Eddy Curry and $3 million to the Wolves in exchange for Corey Brewer, according to multiple media reports.

It looks like at least one young prospect and an unprotected first are almost always included in every single one of these scenarios. (Giannis and 2015 first) The Cavs could ask for Milwaukee's 2016 first because he is a 2 time all-star. He's considered to be a superstar right?

A myriad of players can be mixed and matched (Wolters, Henson, Thompson, Jack, Mayo, etc).

A third team may have to be involved in order to make salaries and compensation work.

There would have to be a mutual interest between Milwaukee and Kyrie in order for the deal to go through.

Again, this is just a random idea but the point is to show that they should at least see what's out there if they do not believe he is the max player that will lead us to championship contention.

And wholly crap the Magic made out like bandits on that deal. Christ.

If that trade offer was made to the bucks gm in person I wouldn't fault them for inciting a brawl. Laughable offer

Re: Look at Jackasses Who Said, "Trade Kyrie Irving"

Honestly, the sustaining desire to trade Kyrie... Reading through the last like 6 pages of this thread and realizing people were serious, then defending it...
