Tyson Chandler

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Honestly.....at this point I value Tyson Chandler higher than Amare and others. I really want him that bad. There are very few rising centers and they are hard to find. Most centers are on the decline at this point. Tyson, Dwight, Bynum, and Oden are really the only true centers that are rising and they are the future of the NBA and they all have potential. If we could pair up one of them(Tyson) with LeBron we can create a dynasty because if you haven't noticed, centers are key parts in championship runs (just check what Dwight is doin for his team now and what Shaq and other have done in the past). The even better part is that he is extremely easy to get!!!!!! We have to get him before some one else because I guarantee every other team in the NBA is lining up for him too.

Only thing is that those other centers you listed besides Oden, all have some type of post game. Chandler doesnt have a real polished offensive game. And at 10+mil a year, for a guy that just plays defense is kinda beat. I know we're paying Ben more, but he also only has one year. So all in all, I wouldnt mind Chandler, if he had an offensive player next to him (at the PF spot) it would take pressure off him.

Which brings in the fact that we still have no post-up big on our team and we are left to pray JJ develops into a powerhouse to create a dynasty. I think Chandler for cheap is a smart move, but not if you can get an offensive star first.

Agreed

Chandler and McDyess starting with Z and Andy off the bench looks good to me ;)

I am still worried about this injury business. Before we all get ahead of ourselves (that point passed weeks ago on this guy), I really feel we should know more about the toe. If this guy is a crock we are saddled with 20 million+ in contracts.

Both teams still save money though. NOH saves money while improving their team a bit, and PHX loses a ton of salary if they waive Pavs. Also if Ben retires they saved a ton, and they saved a lot by trading off Barbosa.

But, are the Suns really getting enough back?

I don't know if a prospect like Hickson, an inconsistant scrub in Sasha, an old vet to free up some cap room, and some picks will get them to trade away a superstar & a nice guard?

I know they want to save money and get picks, but wouldn't they want more?

Then again, Kerr is an idiot.

Chandler has flaws. We all realize this.

However, he's PERFECT for the situation we're in.

• He provides physical help in the frontcourt.
• He would likely come at a pretty low cost.
• He's a long term asset and not some old hat that we'd get 1 or 2 years tops out of.
• Getting him allows the possibility of winning it all next year AND being a player in 2010.

So while he doesn't answer all of the lingering questions, I truly believe that Chandler is the piece that gives Cleveland the most help now AND the most flexibility in the future.

Here's my dream starting lineup.

PG-Mo Williams 6'2"
SG-Raja Bell 6'5"
SF-LBJ 6'8"
PF-Bosh 6'11"
C-Chandler 7'1"

Bench
PG-Gibson
SG-West
SF-???
PF-AV
C-Big Z

I'd be happy with

PG - Mo
SG- Delonte
SF - LeBron
PF - Andy
C - Tyson

PG - Gibson
SG - Sam Young
SF - Kinsey
PF - JJ
C - Z

then Darnell, second round pick, Wally for vet minimum on the pine.

Is it sad we have Magic trolls still?

Magic managed to assemble a few bandwagon fans AND trolls in the past three months? Wow, somebody tell the Charlotte Bobcats franchise anything is possible.

Anyway, Tyson Chandler was not the same guy last year that he was the previous year. In 12 pages of this thread, I don't see clear evidence that he is healthy.

In short, I want more from the center position if we are DEFINITELY losing Ben, Joe, and maybe/possibly AV.
