I was just watching "All Bets Are Off" and they had a segment with him on the show talking Cavs basketball. He was asked if we were maybe looking to make a trade. Windhorst made it seem like it could be possible that we might not (just how i took it). He said that fans send him trade ideas all the time involving a couple of mid-level players for Wally. He said that the Cavs are not just gonna trade for a couple of mid-level talent type players to try and fill some holes. He said we want a significant upgrade with Wally's contract, pretty much a star caliber player. But he also said the Cavs like their depth, and like i mentioned i got the vibe with some stuff he said that it could be possible we don't do anything.

He also mentioned that we will probably wait closer to the deadline to see what becomes available if we do decide to do something. The only name he really threw out there was Josh Howard in terms of the type of player we could look at. So this is not a rumor, he just said he could see them looking at him. But he also said Howard is a guy they could be concerned with because of his background. So they would probably really look into somethings with him because of chemistry issues.

If anyone else saw the show and has anything to add please do, i am a forgetful person lol and probably left things out or didn't explain somethings well enough. But anways, just wanted to fill you guys in on this if you didn't catch the show.

I just don't get why if we can't get a star player, why not get a "mid level player" like Mike Miller or whoever?

I would rather have a mid level player than a stiff player like Wally. I REALLY hope a trade is made. I mean REALLY BAD. This could determine so much.

I wouldn't mind Josh Howard.

Mike Miller if he can be had for wally and taking on cardinals contract just makes so much sense. Miller could start in wests abscence. Plays both sg and sf and is a dead eye shooter. He is a decent play maker also and a much better defender than Wally. He has been very good off the bench before as he has won 6th man of the year award. If a VC level player isnt coming, Miller would be perfect. And if cardinal starts ruining the team chemistry, he can be cut...if not, we have a decent sized expiring contract to dangle next year.

I think Josh Howard would be a bad idea. We already have LBJ at SF and Howard's outside J isn't good enough to start at the 2, and with his recent off court issues, I can't see him wanting to come off of the bench either. The idea of Josh Howard is puzzeling to me, I'm really surprised that Windhorst mentioned his name as someone we could look at.

The only reason he said Josh Howard type was because it was a question he got on "ask brian" on cleveland.com,

I dont see what is puzzling about Josh Howard... Guy is a baller

Could easily play the 2 in our system can shoot it well enough to keep teams honest especially with Mo at the 1, he is a very good defender, he is a young guy and he is a versitile guy who can get to the basket and guard multiple positions

I would take him in a heartbeat and be PUMPED about it... hopefully LeBron could get him to stop smoking so damn much though lol

the thought of it being possible wally wont be traded is really scary

Based on what BW is quoted as saying here, Josh Howard isnt even a rumor. It is a sports writer analyzing what he thinks about a rumor.

In other words, Wind Horse is not saying he heard the Cavs are trying to trade for Howard; he is discussing whether or not he thinks it would make sense if they did. Big difference...unless i am missing something in what BW said.

No way are we getting Howard. Dallas is looking to win, not rebuild. They also have an owner who is willing to pay insane amounts of money to win, so he really isn't interested in cap relief. Plus, Howard's off court attitude goes against everything Ferry and Gilbert have done to this roster. Not happening.

Josh Howard is my first choice even over Vince Carter. I don't get why he's getting a bad rap off the court. I know he made a stupid comments he should have kept to himself about weed and the national anthem but other than that what off the court problems has he had? Maybe I'm missing something.

And as for him being a small forward he can definitely play SG because he's atheltic enough. Danny Ferry and Mike Brown love players that can play multiple positions. Hell Wally started along side LeBron last year and he doesn't possess any athleticism.

But I think he'll be the hardest to get. He has a good contract with only 18 million left for two years. It wouldn't make sense to just use him in a salary dump. Although with Mark Cuban basically running the show anything can happen.

he's shooting 35.5% from 3, which is fine for a starting SG. Playing off LBJ would probably get him more wide open looks than playing off of dirk does. he also is a great slasher, and can score that way. His defense and size also shouldn't be overlooked. He would significantly improve the team. However, i don't think the cavs have what it takes to get him.

Guys we aren't getting Howard..............Best anyone could Wish for to come out of Wally is Cardinal and Miller and I bet we don't even get anything that good.

In July 2008, he was cited for going 94mph in a 55mph zone. Charged with speeding, careless and reckless driving, and speed competition

miller and C for wally ISNT a good trade and if that is offered I thiink cavs turn it down miller's numbers arent much better then wallys so why take on a bad deal for him? maybe if they trade first with us I'd think about that
