With the 39th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft ....

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Shaedon Sharpe had extensive international tournament experience. Miller had a cup of coffee in the Nike Hoop Summit which propelled him into this draft, but he still shot 29% for the season in high school. If you have watched his shooting mechanics, there's work to be done.

Tools are there, but so very raw. I believe in a few other choices who might be there as well.
Miller has international experience as well. Here’s his Team Canada bio from the 2019 FIBA U16 America’s Championship:

The funny thing is he was 6’5” there and he’s since grown to 6’10”.

Here’s an interesting article on him:

No love for the other Mobley brother?

I've seen him being taken in maybe one mock draft. I think he is a target for #58 unless someone the team really wants falls to #58 and they don't want to compete for their service as a undrafted free agent.

I think for Isaiah Mobley (and the Mobley family) it would be a nice gesture to draft him, I think part of the dream is to get drafted. I do think the Cavs chances of getting Isaiah if it has to be as a UDFA is pretty high especially with the Charge being in Cleveland now. A two way contract is most likely where Isaiah ends up but he might surprise us and fill the backup center role.

NBA teams are not in the business of making nice gestures. And before you say "Thanasis Antetokounmpo", giving that dude a roster spot wasn't a nice gesture, it was purely a business decision.

Mobley isn't Giannis. He's not going anywhere, and wasting a spot on his bro would be just that... a waste. It's even possible it would become a distraction, an elephant in the room.

Frankly, I highly disagree with this. Unless you are Danny Ainge or Daryl Morey, you will make a move to help out your guys. The Cavs under Altman are known for this. We didn't have to send Dwyane Wade to Miami but we did it anyway. We sent LNJ to a presumptive playoff team when we could have just dumped him on the Knicks or something. I see no reason why we can't spend a 56th pick or two way spot on Isiah Mobley and let Evan play with his bro. Evan is good enough that I think you add his dad as an assistant if he wants it.

Besides, this team is not full of primadonnas like half your posts seem to imply. I doubt anyone would give a shit if we gave a roster spot to a productive upperclassmen big who can stretch the floor and just happens to be our superstar's older brother. I don't foresee any chemistry problems from this.

Picks like #58 are used for unlikely to come over draft and stash players and guys you might cut in training camp. Isaiah Mobley is most likely worth using the pick on and the gesture to do so could be worth more in the long run than some random euro prospect that may never even want to play in the NBA.

I actually think Isaiah Mobley would be a nice player to put on a two way contract and if he can ultimately develop into our backup center, it will be worth it.

Are we even sure Isaiah Mobley is staying in the draft?

I would think Isaiah Mobley and his family would want a team to draft him because they value his basketball skill , and not because his brother is on the team……,

The Cavs worked out Isaiah Mobley last year and will do so again this year (if they already haven't). They know exactly what he can bring to the team and the growth he may or may not have shown in the past year. If they use a 2nd round pick to draft him or pass on him altogether nobody in here should be upset. He's probably been scouted more by the Cavs than any other player in this years draft.

I watched him some at USC when watching Mobley then this year out of curiosity. He isnt as tall as his brother, and he isnt a great athlete by NBA standards. But he can shoot, has some back to the basket game too.

I dont see Isaiah having a great NBA career because of his lack of explosiveness, but you know he is well coached, good kid and a 6'10 shooter, and a bigman with strength that can shoot and coached well is always worth a shot.

And for the record, athlete compared to other NBA players, i dont want to start a silly debate, lol.

Isaiah is 6'8'' without shoes. That is is the official measurement.

He's very slow for his size.
