With the 39th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft ....

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Isaiah is 6'8'' without shoes. That is is the official measurement.

He's very slow for his size.

Official numbers, including his impressive wingspan:

BTW - your sentence was measured as inaccurately too long by one linking verb.

Isaiah wouldnt be on our Radar if not for his brother. I dont hate him, but he has a 9'0 standing reach, not bad, but good for a SF, but average for a center and Isaiah will be a slow center by NBA standards.

But he is skilled, can shoot, can pass, some post moves. He is a late first to undrafted player, if we want to use our late 2nd round pick on him, great, but with our early 2nd round pick we probably need a backup pg more.

I think #56 ends up being a Eurostash.

I think Mobley goes undrafted, and we sign him to a two-way and put him on the Charge.

All you have to do is cue up some USC games when they were both on the floor, playing a two man game on offense. If Isaiah has a chance in the NBA, his best chance is practicing regularly with his brother.

If I want to be delusional(and maybe I do) I’ll just pretend Isaiah’s upside is a combo of Channing Frye and Kyle Anderson

The college game sucks.

I thought you didnt like the nba game? make up ur mind
I love the NBA game when I don't have to sit through endless stoppages so the refs can get their camera time.

The college game, though... sucks. It's much worse than the G-League, which sucks as well.

What about high school then?

The Cavs worked out Isaiah Mobley last year and will do so again this year (if they already haven't). They know exactly what he can bring to the team and the growth he may or may not have shown in the past year. If they use a 2nd round pick to draft him or pass on him altogether nobody in here should be upset. He's probably been scouted more by the Cavs than any other player in this years draft.
At this point, I don’t see Mobley being drafted unless it’s by the Cavs. The question is why use a pick when we could just sign him as an undrafted free agent?

There is a bunch we really don't know about the two way contracts. There must be some advantage to draft someone then put them on a two way contract.

At #58 though we are looking at a draft and stash player that has an extremely low chance of ever coming to play in the NBA. Unless there is a player they like more than Isaiah Mobley, that they want on a two way contract, securing a player is better than letting them have all 30 team competing to bring them in as a UDFA. You never know what a player will do when being recruited.

I'm really in favor of using the #58 on a player that we want to bring to camp, even if it's just Isaiah Mobley. Ultimately we are competing against other team for the best players in the UDFA pool, I'd rather we just secure the player we think is the best of the bunch. Hopefully that results in a good player on a two way contract that we can develop.

I understand what you’re saying. My point of contention is this- Mobley is unlikely to get drafted and the Cavs, given their ties to the family, would have to be considered a strong front runner to sign him as an UDFA. So, do you waste a pick on a guy that you’re likely to sign anyways? I guess I don’t really see the logic in that, unless you’re just trying to stay in the good graces of the family.

There are forfeited picks which complicates what number people refer to it as. It's technically the #58 pick since #54 and #55 are forfeited. Overall it will be the 56th player taken with it but that might confuse people that 4 people might be taken after it, not just 2.
